    Sudden Internet Problems

I played this morning all was fine, no lag, no problems

then I go play afternoon and the problems begins :

    - There's no more player in the Login screen so I had to retreive account

    - To enter BFHQ it takes like 2 mins, normally it takes 2 secs

    - After joined a server for 5 mins, it always appears |There's is a problem with your connection| and back to the menu |The connection has been lost|

    - Major lag in any server, even the ranked server of my city.

so wth ? The only thing I've done this morning after playing was installing a FireWire card on my motherboard but I dont see how it could influence my connection

    help plz

Have you tried disabling or taking out the fireware card you installed?

a FireWire card usualy adds another "network adapter" to your system. Many people reported problems when having more than one NIC (eg. on-borad + PCI card)

Instead of pulling it your you could try disabling the new network adapter

There's another prob I tried to locate and disable my firewire card but in Device Manager it doesnt detect it anymore. It's weird, 10 minutes before it was on the Device list "IEEE 1364 ..." then I restart my comp, I check and no more.

By the way, my internet provider is Sympatico Bell, I have high speed and they say on my modem, the DSL light should not flash, all was OK. But since this afternoon each time I lost my connection, the light was flashing so maybe I should contact Sympatico ?

for those who have Pinnacle, I dunno why each time I plug my camera on the FireWire it says "Capture Initialization Error"...

anyway I just want BF2 run normally!

So take OUT the card and prove whether or not it's the card.

I'm guessing it is considering all of the problems you're having with it.

Your Cable/DSL light should not blink. That means you're signal is dropping out of the acceptable frequency range for the modem. Contact your ISP about it and tell them you need them to check the line, and possibly install an amplifier.

I had this problem about 6 months ago. My ISP (Time Warner) came out and ran a completely new line through out my backyard and my house. I haven't had a problem since. The best part? It was free. They also offered to install an amplifier, but we have one for all our TVs already.
