    Problem: Ground Textures Disappear

I searched and could not find an answer, so here I go:

Every so often, the ground textures will disappear and my game gets incredibly choppy. I have the latest drivers from nVidia, and my system is free of viruses and spyware. Here are my specs:

    Athlon 3500+ x64
    1GB RAM
    6600GT
    Audigy2

    Here's the error:

That used to happen to me with the old drivers.

    Dunno what it could be.

Did you do a driver clean before updating your drivers?

That could also point to a heat issue if its happening after some time.Card heats up, cracks up and there you are, screwed up textures

          Either:

          1) You didn't properly install your new drivers (that is uninstall and clean first)

          2) Your card is over heating

          3) Textures are dropping because you video setting is too high for your computer.

It was a heat issue. It's fixed. =)

Good to hear. Look into your case's air flow. My guess is its not moving much.

had the exact same problem. turn down your memory oc and see what happens. how i figured it out was running prime95 and it giving me errors after only a minute which is really bad. errors that quick generally mean when your ram has an error it doesn't only screw things up but it can corrupt your bf2 files and even system files.

run all your stuff at stocks speeds with no OC and see if you still get the corruption. then download a program called prime95 and run one of the torture tests. i generally use blend because it tests the memory and cpu. if you get errors right away there are a couple things that could be wrong with your rig. one, if you oc your cpu or memory overclock is too high generating a lot of errors and making your system unstable. two, your memory could be defective. three, your mobo could have some bad dimm slots on it so try using different slots and see what happens. you may have to also reinstall bf2 into a different directory because it's probably screwed up from the memory.

there is also a program called memtest that can tell you if you memory is either damaged or just overclocked too high. also if you don't already have a program that monitors your cpu and gpu temps i suggest you get one and keep an eye on it when you run programs like prime95 or bf2. MBM is probably the best one out there and is really useful too see how hot your cpu gets when prime95 is running at 100% cpu utilization. i use ati tray tools to monitor my gpu temp. this way if you have some overheating going on you will definetly notice it.

                    hope that helps,
