nevermind, i tested it, regedit will still open even if uesr level perms. try going to c:/windows/ and look for regedit.exe there and doubleclick itComment

did you download the md5 sums to compare against? it sounds like you did, but just making sure. All you do is tell it to use these sums to check this folder...Comment

download these, open MD5summer, it ask for root directory, point that at your BF2 folder and click verify sums, it opens a new window that says "open md5 sum file" at the top, point that to the md5 sum you downloaded above (pick the one for the correct version, 1.0, 1.3, etc). Then click open and you will see it go through all the BF2 files and verify their sums, post a screen shot of the results if you get any red lights on any files.Comment

no, you are using the sums you downloaded because they are right.

time for the fun to start. 720 huh, did you have any green lights at all, hehe. Lets start fresh do these in this order (doing these before we start will eliminate me having to ask if they have been done etc.):
1. do a clean uninstall as outlined already in this thread.
2. defrag your hard drive, right click on my computer icon and select manage, then select disk defrag. Let defrag run until finished
3. download and install and run spyware check. I recommend Spybot search and destroy, or ad-aware. they are free. Also do a full virus scan with latest updates.
4.go to start>run>type in cmd, then in cmd window, type in "c:/chkdsk /f " it will say it cannot do it now and do you want to do it on reboot, type y, enter.
5. update drivers for motherboard chipset, video card, and any other add-in cards you may have.
6. reboot, letting the chkdsk run.
7. post your computer specs, brand, model, video card, harddrive brand and size, brand of antivirus, etc, all the info you can, for me to look at.
I will post more when you complete all these.
It is a VERY bad sign that you have that much corruption on your hard disk
