Please Wait! Verifying Client Data, taken way to long

OK, i used to be the first one into the game everytime. This is because my Raid-0 set up and ram settings at 2-2-2-5 and fast connection. Well all of the sudden once map is loaded and it says "Please Wait, Verifying Client data" takes forever and now i am the last one to join in.
Anyone know why is this taken so long all of the sudden. This is happing to a buddy of mine also. Also other buddies with slower pc's and slower connections are not getting in faster than me. Its just taking way to long to get in the game at that point. Nothing changed in my settings. I have no clue why this is happing. I wonder if this question is for EA.

Have you tried deleting your cache?

I'm just taking a stab in the dark. I know that would annoy me if that started all of the sudden and I didn't change anything.

It might be something on GameSpy's end..you never know.

No its punkbuster. Evenbalance coded a poor cheat protection that doesn't stop the latest cheats, and on top of it lags innocent people to hell. Its just how it is. Poor optimization of PB can make a super fast computer into the last one to join in a game.

It might be something on GameSpy's end..you never know.

Try to defrag ur disk, see ur "Pagefile settings", how much disk free space, check for spyware, virus, firewall probs., to name a few.

I suppose manually updating punkbuster with pbweb.exe or pbsetup.exe might be in order as well.

Not necessarily, I've got 1.5 gb an I'm often the last one into the game, again stuck on the verifying Client Data Stage for ages. I've updated everything, defragged and deleted my cache and its still as slow as hell. It must be something to do with PB.

It's something to do with the PB checking for hacks I hear. When the PRMM was released, those who played it will have noticed that the 'Verifying Client Data' took a fraction of the time. I think that was because they bypassed some of the PB requirements as it was a mod, couldn't be played on ranked servers, and therefore had less need for strict security.

Yea has to be Punkbuster i even did a fresh format and still the same. definitly not hardware.
