Jaggies, Spikes on Edge of Map

What's the deal with these huge elevation changes on the edge of my map?? "Smooth edges" doesn't fix it, either.

All of the sudden, I turn my view around, and those things are there. map was already saved.

If you enable your surrounding terrain you will be able to see that it is a part of that. I had this area when I created a heightmap outside of the editor and didn't create heightmaps for the surrounding terrain. What I did was get the raise/lower tool, set the size to 1, power 100 or 50 whatever it is, then carefully clicked each spike untill it disapeared.

Use the smooth tool, brush around 30+ and strength 100 - a lot quicker
