    Flag and Ticket settings...

Hi all, Just a simple request here.

Can somebody please tell me in detail, how i get the tickets to reduce gradually after you capture flags? My map is done, tested, working on a public server...all the objects etc are fine. The problem is, when you capture flags, it just removes a set number of points (which i can set myself), but the other team does not lose tickets over time, even though I set it to lose 20 points per minute. I have tried everything, but I just dont understand what i have to do. The way it is now, I have at the gamestart two opposing flags (chinese and american) and two that are neutral. All i want is for it to be like the normal game (dalian plant is a perfect example) where you capture the neutral flags and the other team starts to lose tickets, and the rate increases with the more control points you have. I should also mention that both my starting flags are cappable, not the "base" type that cant be captured. So, could sombody please tell me in a list or whatever, the steps i need to take to get this thing working. Maybe a brief explanation of what each setting means might be nice too. Thanks.

In level editor on the resources bar go to:
Gamplay Settings -> General (click on it)

Then on the tweaker bar change TicketLossPerMinTeamX (where X is the team, 1 or 2)

You have to capture over half the flags, even if theres 9 flags and you have 4, theres 4 neutral and the other team has 1 it wont count. You would need at least 5.

I think thats how its done anyway.

        Re: Flag and Ticket settings...

Thanks for replying, but I already have done that. This is why its such a nuisance. I have that set to 20 points per minute for each team, but it doesnt remove tickets after capturing more than half of the flags. BTW, what is the "defaulttimetonextAIwave" setting? What i really need to know, is what the setting for controlpoints should be....for example, the settings "is unstrategic control point" , "area value team", all those settings; what do they mean? Do I have to set something else before it will work? can somebody please help me, cause this is the only thing holding the map back from release.

            Re: Flag and Ticket settings...

Other than the first solution I had nothing springs to mind, its either some setting I forgot to mention or some setting youve changed...

                Re: Flag and Ticket settings...

Ok guys - Here is how it is done.

Basically- for the tickets to go down, a team must have more than 100 'ticket value'.

So for exmaple - you give both the main flags 0 ticket value (its a setting). Then give the 2 midle ones 51 each (for both teams).
Nopw when both flags are owned, the total value of both flags equals 102, therefore the tickets start to bleed.

With this system you can create more advanced systems. i.e. have a certain flag with a ticket value of 80 (if its difficult), but only give smaller flags a value of 20. (so more are needed etc).

I hope you understand. A team needs more than 100 'ticket value' to start the ticket bleed for the other side.

                  Brilliant man...

That was it alright. Now, why the heck would anyone at dice call the settings for that "AreaValue"...I mean, now that I know what it is, it makes sense...but before that, you are just looking at it thinking, "Well, I'm not sure what that is, so I'll just leave it alone".
