Because it is (was?) seriously, unbelievably, broken, to the point of being unplayable at launch.

It was one of those games that was hyped and hyped and hyped then when it was released it turned out that it should have been in development for another year or so (waiting for some idiot to say "omg just like bf2" but, no, BF2 at launch was 1000% better than Soldner at launch).

It was an awesome concept though and it's been improved upon since the original release with patches, but I believe it's still fairly broken.

It's a shame, I was really looking forward to it, but I knew that the game had no hope when the official beta demo was not much of an improvement over the leaked alpha of the game from 12 months prior.

i 100% agree with your statement here.. the game was unplayable on release but with the patching since then its become a very stable fun game (as long as u dont mind high pings cuz the good servers tend to be in europe)

last time i installed the game i would say about 99% of the showstopping bugs are gone now.. its definatly worth a look if u can find it in a bargain bin somewhere

the demo is not a very good representation of the current game.. for the 9 bux it would cost to get it now just pick up the full version and patch it.

They should make it so where the day changes automatically so when you first atart the game its day time and during the middle of the game it turns to the eveningm and towards the end it starts to turn dark.

I think that would be a cool fix

I agree, the inital release was crap, the demo was worse... but i decided stuff it i cant wait for BF2 so i brought it in march, and after applyin the latest patch it was top fun! Altho all servers seem to be in europe... if we had a couple aussie servers then it would be awesome. I love the choppas and vehicles in that game, plus the dynamic weather and havin the ability to change the time of day in maps. I also admit to enjoyin being able to make your player unique on the battlefield along with the whole buy/sell weapons at stations. But of all the features, i love being able to LOCK A VEHICLE! So that you can drive a tank around, jump out lock it and then do what you have to without worring about someone stealing your ride. The parachuting is also rather good in the game, but i still cant get past blowing up building with people inside and the colored smoke granades.
