I love it but sometimes the commander spams spotting just one unit...

I love them, the more red dots I have on my mini map, the better I know what is about to come down on me. At least those commanders are trying to keep their team informed. About mid battle, I don't hear the voice anymore.

Tonight, our squad was pinned down by a sniper while defending a flag, the squad leader asked the commander for help, not less than a minute, he illuminated where the guy was... shortly there after, we got him.

Its the commanders who sit by and do nothing are the ones who get on my nerves.

I'm only disapointed that the USMC's commander is big and tough, but if you become commander as MEC or PLA, you don't get a tough voice.

#1. For me too it's a godsend knowing where the enemy are planning to hit plus knowing the enemy is doing the same to you makes it all the more important to stay hidden in cover and keep moving no different to what it would be in RL.

i said im indifferent either way.

the commander shoul however in my opinion be able to see the orders that squad leaders have giventheyre squads before getting assigned new orders from the commander who u have to turn down cause your in the middle of a outpost battle.. then he gets ****ed because u dont liisten to him .

i agree it blends in to the background and gives me a heads up that they are getting spotted. i tend to do on the spots where our team is near and i believe the spotting will be helpfull

Bingo. Repeating sounds and random sayings such as "We're losing this battle! Fight or I'll find someone who can!" (even when your team holds most flags) is annoying.

Spotting is important, and very helpful. I hate getting shot in the back by APCs that roll up cause nobody spots it, so it helps very much.

It's not the spotting that's annoying, its the useless spam sounds that drive me nuts.

It's really dumb that EA didn't include an option in Settings->Sound that would simply toggle on/off these unneeded sounds. How much programming skill would that take? Again, it's Programming 101 to add a simple Boolean switch to a program...

Re: Love or Hate Commander "Spotted" Messages?

As Commander, I only use the "_____ Spotted!" options when I'm watching some of my troops who can't seem to take a CP or if they seem to be running into an ambush point and nobody can seem to find the ambushers. When I DO use it, I use it incessantly until I KNOW that my guys got the clue that there is an enemy crawling up behind them to knife them in the back(backstabbers, lol) and even then sometimes for some reason, they don't get the clue, and, after having been killed have the audacity to say, "WTF! I HAD NO IDEA HE WAS THERE, WHERE WAS THE BACKUP FROM MY TEAMMATES???!!!" To which I simply answer, FIRST-join a freakin squad and stick with them, and they'll take care of you just as they will expect YOU to take care of them! and SECOND-turn your freakin volume up, it may be annoying but those messages can mean the difference between 30 seconds of loss of gameplay/kills/etc AND respawning into a spawn campers hands OR turning around getting the kill and moving on. THIRD-those announcements, while tricky to get down quickly and efficiently, make the difference for those people who don't have(for whatever reason) voicechat ability. I've been told numerous times when I randomly pick a unit to watch(when everybody seems to be doing ok, and my assets are rebuilding), that they really appreciate "Big Brother" looking over their shoulder and warning them about some impending doom before it has a chance to strike. I even kept one guy alive(because everybody else was running around with chicken-with-head-chopped-off syndrome) for like 20 minutes with people coming at him from every direction(he had started out trying to take a flag, then, as he was trying to defend recently taken flag, I guess the bad guys REALLY wanted THAT flag, lol). He ended up dying because the enemy finally got the demo squad(LITERALLY, there were 3 SPEC OPS, 2 MEDICS and a SUPPORT guy that did nothing but destroy the enemy assets as they were repaired or respawned(vehicles/aircraft) and respawners who had spawned in just to kill the demo squad-mostly assault guys) that was blowing their sh1t and dropped arty on him, lol.

That was a little more wordy than I really intended it to be, sorry, lol.

Speaking of announcements, has anyone heard the one about Chad?

Seems he is the ultimate stud man, "Chad is busting hymen, and she is young"

                            LOL!

1st of all...who the hell has time to read chat when playing commander?

If they don't use VOIP...they are second class citizens:laugh: ...hehe.

Bottomline, a good commander will use everything he has to get the job done. A commander won't focus on spotting enemy troops outside the field of view, unless they are a direct threat or there is no UAV.

That's all I have to say 'bout that...

                                I voted 2

Not because the sound is that annoying, but because that sound can mask the approach of another enemy, especially when extensively used..
