    [Project Larissa Island]

    Hi all,

I'm VERY new to mapping (uber n00b )
And I want to ask you guys a few things:
first of all how do I get rid of my map getting divided in 4 parts. (see picture)

second: I want to get my bridge 100% connected to each other without any mistakes (see picture)

When I have more questions I will add them...

If you have suggestions for my map please add them as well.

Ps sorry for the ****ty english...

To get rid of the little minimap - on the right side under minimap select "Hide"

To make bridges the easy way they will be perfectly level but you will still have to move them together check this link:

    Use option #1

I don't mean the minimap... I meant the dark lines... The whole map is divided in 4 pieces... Especially the mountain is 1 side light and other side dark...

I can't get it to work.. I have selected all buttons when doing lightmap but it still shows that ugly black/light "bug"

For your meterial are you using any "Mud" or "water_puddle"? I had that problem and it was the material i had selected for my texture.

Ok, I have tried that lightmapping again... and i did a final lightmapping and now its gone... I have another problem though... :P I've made a little island which has huge spikes... (ground which is very high) but when i fly towards it... it takes a whole while before i can see the top of a spike... Any solutions?

-edit... My bridges still suck I did the snap to object stamp align thing but for some reason one part is still higher or lower then another... I can't get them to fit perfectly... always a little piece which isn't correct...

-edit2: I have made some screenshots with renderer.drawhud 0... I can't find them anywhere... they aren't in the usual folder where screenshots are saved?

-edit3: Is it possible to click a position and get a tree at that exact spot??

                  Re: [Project Larissa Island]

The first 2 things I can answer:
                  1) This is becuase of the draw distance, when you get close to the 'spikes' the game will start to draw them. Theres a setting in the tweaker bar where you can change this setting so you have a greater draw distance. This may affect performace greatly though. The better alternative is to use fog, set the fog to something like 50 less than your draw distance, also change some of the settings / colours to get the effect you want (will take a fair bit of testing)

                  2) Bridges are annoying to place, you have to do it manually. Zoom in as far as you can to where two pieces connect and move them as close as you can. If it comes to a point where its moving too fast you are going to have to change the X/Y/Z coords in the tweaker bar manually and to get it right you will need to go down to 2 or 3 decimal places.

Ok I have alot more questions...
                    1. Can I delete undergrowth?
                    2. I put a helipad somewhere... It shows up in the map... Now I put another one... It doesn't show up?
                    3. This I think i have to clear up with a screenshot which i will post later, but at the ground/water piece so where the ground is divided from the water... There's a blue glow... Can i get rid of that?
                    4. My minimap is still divided in one dark section and one light... 50 - 50 though...

I'll see if i can find more things... Btw can someone answer my other questions as well??

                      1. yes - go to undergrowth mode and also select the undergrowth you want to delete. Go to render at the top and click on Toggle View Undergrowth and Undergrowth Mode. Then right click on places you wish to delete it.

                      2. No idea why thats happening, what the method are you using to make the second helipad?

                      3. Screenshot would be nice...

                      4. Unfortunatly everyone gets this, you just have to cope with it...

Ok I fixed the blueish glow, added undergrowth/overgrowth...
and I almost finished the 16p version..
I'll post screenshots later, hope someone wants to test my map to see if he/she can find any bugs
or has any suggestions ofcourse :)

On the base islands, add some more stuff. Hills or buildings, less sniping. They look odd with all the other terrain.
