FEMA also recommends that every person keep a 3-day survival kit at all times b/c it generally takes about that long for the federal response to mobilize under the best of conditions.

If you check the news this morning, a f*ck lot of aid has been flowing into that area since yesterday -- one day off, not bad given the circumstances.

But yeah, let's not ask what NO and Louisiana's disaster plan for immediately following a levee break was (they've only been there 300 years, not enough time to plan anything) and blame Bush for not taking out his magic wand and miracaling a few metric f*ck tons of food onto Bourbon Street on Tuesday.

And if you haven't turned on the TV or read the news in the past week, you should at least know that FEMA stands for "Federal Emergency Management Agency" from the game Deus Ex.

umm, that ****'s insane. theres like a whole city wiped off the planet. makes ya wonder?

ppl were on their roofs with sniper rifles taking out other civilians and they declared martial law or some****. Its like a huge blob of chaos!

ah well, sucks for those people - why would you want to live in a place you know gets hurricanes, or anything else for that matter. I live in phoenix where it's safe from that ****, just kinda hot in the summer :P

What amuses me is constantly seeing Americans put themselves on a pedastool above other nations, thinking they're so much more 'civilised' than these hard done by nations. And yet as soon as the shit hits the fan on your home soil, we see disgusting acts, beyond which we normally see in poorer countries. We've seen looting, violence, murder, gangs of men going around raping women.
