Stat padding and point stripping - Whose fault is it anyway?

I've seen a lot of talk on this board about stat padding and point stripping and I've also seen a lot of opinions up and down the spectrum. I have a question for you, though. Whose fault is it anyway?

Personally, I hate stat padding. I think it is a total waste of time and it degrades the game for legitimate players.

But when did we agree to play the game the way EA wants us to? Why didn't they build into the game the inability to stat pad in the first place instead of imposing it later? When I laid down my 50 bucks for this game, did I agree to have my account audited by EA and then have them decide AFTER THE FACT what constitutes the "correct" game play?

Just some food for thought. Let me know what you all think...

Because people ALWAYS come up with a way to play the game in ways the developers had never even dreamed of.

People have such an URGE to cheat their way to the top...they will come up with craziest and lamest things I have ever heard of.

The developers can only do their best to predict player behaviour...but if they really wanted to try and predict all the possibility of exploitation before release...the game would NEVER get released.

Soooo..they see what people come up with, let THEM do all of the hard work..and then come up behind them and patch the holes.

Personly I hate EA for many reasons, I mean come on what kind of company has its own employees sue it. Anywho, stats are completely useless cause once the cool mods come out bye bye bf2 ranked servers hello mod servers. Then EA can do w/e the **** they want since the most appealing thing about this game is the mod community and they are just cashing in on it sorta like other games like css. But hey, im biased since I hate EA so much dont listen to me. Oh and have you played any other games with stats aka halo 2, nothing much cheaters overrun that game for past year, making it no fun at all. Why?, because a survey they did found that more then 50% were under the age of 13.

Not everyone who cheats is very young (of course some are because they want to be "cool".) The 13 and under crowd aren't making the cheats though.:p

Since the game just came out and EA didn't do a good job testing it, I do not blame EA for stat padders. I blame the people who do it. Just because you CAN take advantage of the system doesn't mean you should. They know it's wrong but they do it anyways.
