How quickly will grenades take out a tank/apc?

If im a sniper or something, is it worth throwing my grenades at a tank capping a flag, will I be able to destroy it any time or will it only take 1 bar or so off?

Plus, can grenades destroy commander stuff like arty?

Not quickly at all. You're better off just waiting, or looking for the tripod-mounted TOWs/HJ-8s

its worth throwing one on the opposite side of the tank you are on, the tank might think it has enemys on the right, when you are on the left, giving you more time to jump into a TOW...

Dont waste your time, theres noting worse for a Spec-Ops guy trying to C4 a tank and then getting TK'd by a grenade, they do so little damage to armour its not worth the risk. best to let him drive off and let a better equipped solider deal with it.

The best thing you can do is to use "Enemy Armour Spotted" "Need Backup" radio commands to help your team mates know its position. Let it cap the flag and drive off, and then when it gets to a safe distance take the flag back, most armoured flag cappers are too lazy to turn around when further then 100 metres away :laugh:

Spotting enemy's is a very useful and under-used job that snipers are often perfectly positioned for.

General rule, if other people are throwing them help with that and throw some to, since you all might wear it down. If AT guys are hitting might be a good idea to throw some. If it is damage past white smoke, do it you might make em bail. Other then that no, never, ever, ever bother.

I do like the idea of trying to throw a grenade in such a way that it explodes on another side of the tank giving the driver the directional hit indicator...see if he scans off in that direction giving you those precious seconds to man the AT turret or tank/APC/whatever.

If you're support and in a good hiding spot you might get enough nades off before she rolls off or kills you....

nades can't take out artilery and stuff, only C4 can.

Yesterday there was some enemy guy with a tank in the base, he started fireing on the UAV trailer with the tank, looked at it, after like 1 min and 20 shots later and some C4 on his tank I said to him,

: hello enemy, you can't destroy UAV with a tank !!
- he just keeps on shooting the UAV trailer

: I have put some C4 on your tank and I am right behing you
- he stops fireing, turns his turret to the other side, but the moment before his turet was completely turned I blew him up.

But he was a sport, he replyd : lol , now I know you can't destroy them with a tank,

Whenever I'm bored waiting for people on Karkand on my favorite server, I sit at MEC's main base and park the tank next to the TOW. Then I fire the TOW at the satellite (or whatever it is), hop into the tank and shoot that at the satellite. I keep switching between the 2, and after about 2 and half minutes, it finally explodes. So it is kinda pointless shooting the UAV etc with tanks, does so little damage.

around 24 nades for commander stuff. includes arty.
