New Maps?

Ok, sorry to beat a dead horse, and I didn't find my answer in searching.......
What is the reason we do not/can not play modded or created Maps on ranked servers? I sure miss the mods and maps that were abundant in SOF2, that kept the game from getting old. I'd love to play some new maps, but if the servers arent ranked that hosts them, then whats the point in playing? Flame me now.

Modded Maps are coming and are even available now.
The stats & ranking online is new to the BF series as you know, and as we have recently seen with the stats-stripping of knife-only servers, EA is serious about maintaining the integrity of the stats system, for which I applaud them.
Someone could make a map that was a 'canyon of pure death' or something like Midway and those who didn't download it would be at a disadvantage. I could think of someone making a map where one side was underbalanced and the other prevailed, which would be unfair.

The point? Oh yeah. Unranked servers are still abound in the hundreds.

Yes, but the fact is that if you play on unranked servers you dont get your time logged and you cant unlock the better weapons. Why have a stats system if it means you have to be so straight laced that the game becomes a pain. If they released new maps regularly then that would be fine, but you know it'll be in an add-on pack costing us plenty.

mod's and or custom maps can be totaly unbalanced etc... this is why ranks is only alowed on official servers

I am hoping that EA will allow mappers to submit their maps for approval to be played on ranked servers. That way they will be tested for fairness and balance. Once approved, they could be added to ranked servers. They say they support the modding community, this would be a good way to show that support.

I am 100% sure that they will not. In fact, EA will not add/change anything at all in the 1.3 patch.

That is actually a really good idea. Have people be able to submit maps to EA to have them included as official maps.

And the unlock weapons aren't "better" they aren't mean't to be better. Only an alternative.
