My FPS...

Well I finally got around to checking my Frames per second with everything on high except the res is medium and 2xAA. I am getting between 15-35fps depending on the map and intensity. The second number is always in the 40-50 range, don't know if thats saying anything. Still saving enough money for a CPU upgrade.

2GB ram
250 GB WesternDigital HD
120 GB Maxtor HD
6800 GT Core Clock: 428 Memory clock: 1.14Ghz

Seems to run pretty good though even when things get into the 15fps range, Since I turned everything up there is 99% less studdering but overall lower FPS.

put some stuff down to medium, lighting, dynamic lights, geometry and other stuff has no visible difference at all to high.

turn down your clock speeds on ur gt its probably getting hot slowing down.

Never overclock, it will just give you hardware-side problems. I have the default clock on, no problems.

Turn the things down?, defrag, clear your shader cache and defrag again. My Documents > BF2 > Mods > Cache > (clear all the folders).

If it makes you feel anybetter I get 8-35~ FPS and Im on mostly Low, some med, anything fancy off.

Disable the AA stuff, for christ sake :laugh:

6600GT is almost low-medium todays and the BF2 mistress is quite demanding bi.ch

I got from 45 (worsest recorded situation) to 100fps on my config (see sig link)
...and I still complain about the poor speed!!!

i agree when the 6800GT gets to hold it will slow down and being at those clock speeds im not surpriced, iv only OC mine to ultra speeds any further and will start to slow down

I get an average of 55 fps, 1600x1200 resolution, high quality high everything. BUT TRY THIS: Turn OFF vertical SYNC in video settings, set to performance or quality. I dont know ur cpu so I assume its older. Set AA and stuff to application controlled. Try 1024x768 resolution and start with med then see how it goes with the FPS. Adjust the in game shading and stuff to Lower settings or off after running some games. Try www.fraps.com for a good/free frames per second monitor.

Higher resolution and picture quality puts more strain on cpu and video card resulting in lower FPS.

I am too addicted to the video quality to lower it at this point, I'll buy a new mobo and AMD processor to replace my P4 2Ghz if I have to.

The thing is, with the card overclocked that high it barely goes above 70*C (idle stock clock speed is 60*C) I have a fan blowing into the case constantly with the side panel off to keep things mildly cooler.

Since I turned everything up its much more playable. The FPS don't fluxuate as much and there is practically no studdering. Its quite odd IMO. I guess I'll try lowering it to recommended OC speeds and see what comes from it.

PS: The second number is higher than what I've seen others post. If this is indeed the processor strain could this be a bottleneck?
