I have a lcd hat does 1280x1024 and when i do the thing with the shortcut it works but doesnt look good. so i was wondering if there was a way i could run the 1280x960 through battlefield2 and have it not streched to the full screen (not in a window, but with like the black bars in dvds to fill up the extra vertical room). Is this possible??? Thanks.

I used to have the same problem when trying to run 1280x1024 with my LCD. So you have tried adding the extra "+szx 1280 +szy 1024" to the command line. When I also tried it, I would have a dark bar on the right and rather thick too. What worked for me was simply pressing the auto-adjust button. I hope your monitor has it... -

i tried the +szy 1280 etc but did not like the quality of it. my monitor is dvi do its digital and doesnt have or need an auto button.Comment

Hi. I run 1280x1024 no problems. Looks very nice and sexual (LOL j/k) too. Here's what you do:
1) Go into the game as is, and into video settings. Set your usual settings, then set it to 1280x960x"xx" ("xx" is the refresh rate; recommended run at whatever you normally run at).
2) Do not go into any server; rather, close the game. Clear your cache by going "C:\Documents and Settings\"username"\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache (by default) and clearing everything inside that folder.
3) Right click on the regular Battlefield 2 icon (not the "play online one) and go into properties. add this after +fullscreen : +szx 1280 +szy 1024
4) Should work; otherwise, report back.Comment
