    My kubra dam tactic!

Guys, this works all the time or at least 95% of the time.

Didn't want to put it here from the beginning but here it is, I use this a long way now.

When on USMC side and the round starts.
Do not go for the tank, apc, chopper, ......

But take the dam buggy as fast as you can, drive it down into the dry river and go to the right side under the bridge.

There you have a fence, directly when passed the fence go left to the dam and drive in the midle pipe.

Put some c4 in the pipe (in case there is a mec vehicle passing true) and hide in the hallway there, then you are taking the midle point. once this point is captured, drive to the mec main base and in 99% of the case there is a tank or APC, take it and take the main base.

The mec's have lost a big advantage then, and can't concentrate only at front of the map anymore, this way your team has much more chance to win the map.

Why does this always work ??

    - the buggy is fast, and taking the pad I say, you won't counter mec vehicles comming from the material post.
    - start of round most MEC guys spawn at front of map, not defending the midle of the dam.
    - some MEC spawn at the main MEC base, but this is for choppers, and when you reach that point, they are long gone killing USMC guys at front of map, this is the reason the tank or APC is still left there and you can use it to cape there flag.

    Certainly a good tactic

Only a few good defenders required to counter it...but you're right..that isn't as likely to happen.

that is exactly why i do. i grab a buggy take the first neutral flag, grab another bug, drive to the middle pip and take that flag. drive to the mec spawn and take that flag then back up to the two spawns left of the middle pipe spawn

When I'm MEC on this map, I love to get the tank on the west most flag, one of the dam on the other side of the unfinished building. I'll camp on top of the damn with the tank and just wait for the blackhawk to come and I'll take it down with the tank. Sometimes I'll go over to the side and defend that flag first because some people like to cap that flag first, depending on the situation. This is one of the only maps I like to defend.

Really, this tactic can be applied to ANY map. In 99% of the cases I've seen with maps like Kubra, Clean Sweep, Dragon Valley etc, any that are not double assaults, its very easy for the USMC team to send a buggy/boat to the very far bases and EASILY cap them at the beginning of the round.

Most people on the MEC/China side will always start at the closest base to the one USMC base because they know it will be closest to the action. Capping the far bases usually means an extra tank or helicopter for you, and it allows you to pinch the opposition into the middle of the map.

Ironic, USMC did that to us yesterday when I played Kubra. I don't know if they planted mines in the tunnels, but when took over the lower damn it was much easier to take out our main base with the tank and out own chopper.

I always use this tactic, but after I capture their main, I take the buggy back and go run over all the peeps still waiting around for the planes/choppers to spawn. lol

It always works because, nobody on pub servers defends. Only time it gets hard is when they run out of places to spawn and are backed into a corner, thats when the real game begins.

That's a great spot for MEC troops as well. I earned my Explosive badge there. Spawn at the Flag on the right of the damn, the one where all the snipers go. Dive off the top and parchute down the the tunnel. Place 3 or 4 C4 packs around in the tunnel in line with the little hallway. Retreat inside the hallway and wait.

Usually a full blackhawk on it's way to take the MEC airfield will come along, the cocky pilot trying to show off his skills by flying through the tunnel to avoid the AA and aircraft.

As he passes the opening of the hallway detonate your C4. 6 Kills and 6 Defending the flag points

As someone else posted, the same tactic is often successful on any map because so many play BF2 without any real grasp of tactics or strategy.

When I'm MEC (also I'm a quick spawner) I spawn at the Refueling Station as Special Forces and immediately take out the bridge. Often I'll get killed after the bridge is blown but that's fine by me. I'll respawn at the Material Station as an Engineer and mine the northern entrance. If it's not taken already I'll jump in the tank and request a supply drop and defend this base. Where I play, we have defense set up at the Refueling Station. Their job is to prevent traffic from proceeding down the river bed to the Dam. The squad at the Material Station prevents traffic from taking the northern road. We also have a squad at the Intake at all times. The worst thing a defending team can do on maps like Kubra, Clean Sweep or Dragon Valley is leave their main base undefended. On these assault maps, you don't have to attack the enemy, they're coming to you. Killing from a defensive position is much easier.
