Well I accidently screwed up my BF2. So, as any normal person would do. I attempted to reinstall the game. So I plop in my BF2 install disk and proceed to the point where I am asked for a cd key. Ok, no problem. I go get my BF2 case, open it up, and to my utter panic , noticed the manual is gone. I began searching for the manual that had gone astray. Under tables, couches, mattresses, etc (Even the garbage.), but without luck. I was just wondering if it is at all possible to retrieve a lost cd key? Or is it gone forever and I have to buy another cd key from EA? Or even another copy of the game? Why couldn't they have just printed the key on the inside of the box?! In the meantime I will do another search while panicking. I will update on the situation once I find my manual, or decide to buy a cd key from EA, or attempt to retrieve it. Wish me luck . (Damn EA for not printing CD keys on the inside of the box...)

'Cos I love your avatar and sig I'll offer the best advice I can....
If you haven't done a full uninstall yet, try looking in your registry just in case it's still lurking around there? If you've done an uninstall it will have dissapeared and then.... ...sorry.

Re: Well I Feel Stupid...
you can't get another cd key, so if you lost yours, you will need to buy another copy of BF2, very sad, but nothing to do about it.
TIP : I have a word doc on my PC where I put every CD key of all the games I buy, and print this out, this paper is always on the same place, so if I don't find my manual anymore I just take the paper.
The work doc is encrypted (you never know with all those hackers around)Comment

I think you have to wait yet to get a new game, but you should contact EA about this issue. Most likely they will want you to send them the CD.Comment

Hmm, well I didn't have any luck with the manual. Thanks for the help guys. I still have remnants of BF2 files remaining but, none of those contained my cd key. I guess I will have to buy another copy of BF2. And be "The Guy Who Bought 2 of the Same EA Games." Not a title I'm really proud of...Comment

Re: Well I Feel Stupid...
Well it was a long shot... when you uninstall it removes the key from the registry. I was vaugely hoping you hadn't done a full uninstall yet.
Your only hope now is to call up EA and whinge and bitch until they help you out. Well, start nice and pleasant, and if you don't get anywhere then turn into the consumer from hell! People say that they ask for your disk and whatever leftovers you have, so I guess someone's done it before.
Good luck!Comment
