AA is Anti-Alias. It's a setting you can change in Bf2 video settings.

Anti-Aliasing helps with graphics, which slow down your performance. I think?

          AA is anti aircraft (lol)

No AA makes the edges more smooth.

But a higher resolution makes you edges also more smooth.

AA is very intensive for you vid card, most cards can't handle it or only 2x depending on the res.

          TIP
First look what resolution your system can handle, for example it is 1240*1024 , when your system can handle this with no probs, then and only then start using AA and look if your system canhandle it.

Most people don't get it actualy, like many idiot use AA on 1024*768 resolution, but actualy there system could handle 1240*1024 resolution without AA much better and the image would look much better.

Higher resolution is intensice for vid card but AA even more, higher resolution geves the first and best image quality improvement

            just another thing.

AA is completely video card depending, your CPU has nothing to do with it, won't use even 1% load for it, this is 100% the work of the video card.

So when your CPU is getting a bottleneck for your game, you also can start turing the AA higher for image quality (if your card can handle it)

I've never had much luck with AA - but then again my video gave me a big fat NO when I even hovered my mouse over it

I can't live without my AA. I only set is at 2X though so that my performance isn't hindered as much.

God..I remember when FSAA first hit the scene...

Was it first on the Voodoo4?
