    Deleting the Intro.

Here's how you delete the long a$$ intro for BF2.Go to C/EA Games/Battlefield 2/mods/bf2/Movies folder, and delete the Dice, EA, Intro, and Legal folders. Then you will popup to the login very quickly. I do it because i hate watching the un skippable intro.

Or why not just delete the entire movies folder! Then you get rid of it all.

I don't know if that would be such a good idea
It looks like there are some files in there that run the menu in-game :)

Just delete everything inside the whole Movies folder. Problem solved.

Some of the movies are the background crap in the menus, but they're not needed. Runs better without them.

No, then you wouldn't be able to log in, there's 3 things that you can't delete. THere's the menu, menuloggedin, and the Welcome files. If you delete those, then it won't work.

I just renamed them because it could cause a "modified content" thing from PB (or so it has been reported).

It will sit there because it looks for the files yet.

As far as I tested, all the movies could get lost and game still work and - so to say - better - if you are short in memory (eg. having less that 2G of system ram )

Because? Because windows like very much to cache all they touch, so both the "under menu" animations are cached, and since they aren't small (67MB and 60MB), they eat your precious memory.
Getting rid of them are recommended in performance-wise way.

I keed the nice Intro.bik one, renamed to IntroX.bik, so I could play it when I get the mood.

I use Media Player Classic + the binkw32.dll file just right com bf2, put into the same folder and use version not greated that 6.4.7.5 - in later version the support for bink was removed, because the suxxkas asked poor autor about 2x the licence fees - with translating to 2x 8 000$ ... for freeware autor stuff.
