v1.02 Patching Failed

Hi, I have just bought BF2 and installed. Was told to not download patch v1.01 as it has a memory leak but update my BF2 with patch v1.02. When doing so i keep getting an error message saying patching has failed and I havent a clue why. Anyone give me any suggestions which may help?

Have you tried searched the forum using the search feature, for words like patch or failed or similar??

There's also a sticky on this at top of forum here by GWS.

Followed it bit by bit and made no difference still got the same message, thanks anyway. Anymore suggestions?

Have you taken a look at the file ..\My Documents\Battlefield 2\dmp\patchlog.txt and see if there are any hints in there as to why it fails??

Got another solution finding it now.

Try this, from other forum

1. Open startmenu, then press run.
2. Type %temp% and delete everything in it. Don't close the empty temp folder.
3. Start the patch.
4. Selext language.
5. In the next windows _DON'T_ press next, just lets it stay in the background.
6. Go back into your tempfolder and look iin the folder that should be there called something like {03A9E526-2B99-4AF2-BC50-D26A2CFB516D}, I'll call it {randomsymbols}.
7. Open CMD (startmenu -> run -> type CMD). Position your {randomsymbols} folder next to the CMD window and drag the patch.exe into the cmd.
8. Make a space after patch.exe
9. Locate your battlefield folder like: c:\program files\ea games\battlefield 2\ and drag it into the cmd also. it should look like C:\TEMP\{randomsymbols}\PATCH.exe "c:\program files\ea games\battlefield 2\"
10. Press enter and wait.
11. Close the window from point 3.
