The most obvious example of bullet travel time on a gun rather than the snipers, are the support guns with tracers. You can see the tracer all the way to when it hits. If there was no travel time, you wouldnt be able to see the tracer in mid flight at all.

Awesome :yay: thanks for them videos, im not a very good sniper, but as a team player will swop to any class when it is needed, and these days with so many more people having unlocked M95's its easy to get pinned down by the enemy so i am finding myself being a sniper more and more.

I have improved considerably in the last few days after reading about the bullet drop in another thread (i think it was yours as well Zagashi :) ) and last night i had a great chance to practice as i found a whole squad of snipers on the crane on Sharqui Penninsula but with no way up because of claymores.

The problem was that i was MEC and i dont have the M95 unlocked so had to take them on with my least favourite rifle, and at a long distance as well due to them covering each other and all the angles. After many misses i finally got consistent after raising the shot to the nearly the first bar similar to your video (different scope of course) So my question bassically is; Are all the rifles the same when it comes to bullet drop? or have you no idea? I found the MEC sniper virtually unusable before at anything over medium range, but have leanrt a lot from your posts. Thanks again :salute:

P.S. I actually use the M95 quite a lot, i can never resist looting the corpse of a sniper to see if they have the M95 (wallet, wedding ring, etc, etc ) Unless im playing USMC then im happy to use the M24 as it smaller (and camo'd) so easier to hide with when you have the perfect spot IMHO.

Re: The M95 is a total piece of sh1t

I have tested the M24, and it has signifigantly less bullet drop than the M95, but is still there for long range shots. I have not yet tested the PLA and MEC rilfes yet, but i will to see if it does exist. The problem with those rifles is that they are so inaccurate at longer ranges that it might be impossible to consistently test, plus there scopes do not use the same levels of zoom as the M24 and the M95, so it will be harder to line up a target properly at very long range, such as in the video(the target was hard enough to see there).

Oh and to add, bullet drop increases when shooting upwards with the M24 and M95(the 2 guns i have tested bullet drop with). Example: If the enemy is up in a crane, and your off in the distance on the ground, and had him lined up in the dead center of your crosshair, only to miss, try aiming slightly above his head, and watch his body slump off that crane. I'll make another video showing that effect aswell.

More and more im thinking i should make a sniping guide.

                Greetings

The m95 in reality would still blow you in half from a mile away if you were holding a 1 inch thick steel plate in front of you ffs.

Its a one shot kill hit to the torso at 1000 metres no matter what.

Re: The M95 is a total piece of sh1t

Yes and that would make the game pointless if you had 1 shot kills for every shot, people have got too used to the AWP in CS after all this time and cant seem to accept that this game has HUGE maps, the sniper was nerfed on purpose to make the game playable. Already with 3 or 4 GOOD snipers some areas can be completly cut off for soldiers on foot. ANy more powerful and everyone would just be snipers covering all the spawns

it kills in one shot if your good (Headshot) and 2 if your not (Chestshots). I really dont see how anyone needs it improved? Which that video above for reference of bullet drop, its extreme on the M95 meaning that if you aim at the head of a far away soldier you usually hit him in the body or miss completly. Adjust aim according to distance and elevation.

A good guide with screenshots and video's would be useful for many people i think, after hearing so much from people missing with it As i said i havent unlocked it (yet) but loot it when i can, it really pains me to be killed when i have it now as you can be devastating when in a good position.

If you do write a guide make sure you stick it in the "tips and tricks" sub-forum as threads dont get lost there when the fall off the first page in a day There are some great dguides in there already but no complete sniping guides detailing the bullet drop.

I agree with Teaves. M95 already does ~95% damage ffs. You'll get a kill or a kill damage assist. I don't care what it does in real life.

I agree the rifle is a bit disappointing, think it's hard enough to shoot a moving person from great distance to justify more damage without compromising the gameplay.

I just made a second account and will be able to test the M95 properly since every time I snagg one I seem to get killed before I really get to use it.

I figured that was the best way to decide if I want to waste my main accounts second upgrade on it. I do exceptionally well with every sniper rifle and so I would guess that I will get along nicely with the M95. If I dont like it then its time for some PkM action.

I just unlocked this on my alt account, and I must say, I love it.

I even use it over the M24, shooting drivers out of the transports is very very nice to have.

My only beef with it is it seems to take a bit longer to become accurate when looking around.

One hit K.O.'s and BETTER ACCURACY need to be added to the m95. I mean i spent an unlock on the gun, MAKE IT DO SOME DAMAGE!!!

Re: The M95 is a total piece of sh1t

My beef with the M95 is that it is a .50 rifle and it doesn't kill in one shot to the upper body (sometimes). Its either head shot, or 2-4 shots. Thats right 4. I have shot someone 4 times in the chest, and either the shot didn't register (which wouldn't surprise me) or the gun sucks (which ****es me off). I'd much rather use my M24 then this thing. Problem is, only the US forces have the M24.

Here is what should be done:

Increase the damage so its 1 shot, 1 kill. But make the kick back, and reload times really high, so as to off set the 1s1k aspect.
