Parachute?

Hope I am in the right place, this is my first post, I can't seem to find anywhere how to jump off a structure or aircraft using a parachute? I read somewhere how to do this now I can't remember where I read it? Maybe I'm to old to be playing games, I'm 62 and only play single player mode, nothing online, not sharp enough for that! Anyway enough bull, can anyone tell me how to do this, and do you have to pick up a chute somewhere ahead of when you want to use it?

Once you jump press 9, you may have to press it a couple of times to get it to open up for you, but you'll hear it and see a little image on the right hand side
You automatically have the parachute, and I think you can use it multiple times, aswell.

um its binded to a key and you can only use it after falling a certain distance. If you go into options then controls should be in there, I think its set to zero but i changed it so not sure. You can use it over and over to tho.

The default key is 9... and I usually tap it in rapid succession until it deploys.

another thing to remember
if your feet happen to 'touch' anything
(bump in the hill, smaller roof, tree)
the chute will instantly close
and if you are high enough, you will die
so, unless you are over a field or the water
I keep hitting the '9' key
(or whatever you reassigned it to)

you have to be high enough for your character to put his gun away as you fall. this only takes a second, but if you are jumping off a small building it won't be enough time and you won't be able to open your parachute. once your character has put the gun away, then tap 9 a few times. (or you could just tap 9 madly a soon as you jump to make sure your parachute opens at the first oppurtunity.)

Wow! I hope I'm still gaming in 40 years time....:p

When you jump just wait for your gun to be pulled back by the soldier and then press 9 (by default)
