What did you invent in this game??

well - someone had to be the first!
(eg buggy bomb, parachute into enemy terrtory and steal a vehicle, plus at least 100 other cools tricks out there, etc)
maybe you were not really the first - how could you possibly know? - but if you did something cool that you never saw before - at least you did something cool? right?

me? ( I am sure someone did these things before me, but I never saw them till I tried them)
    1. fly attack helo as engi and then land and do my own repairs
    2. hover over engi in vehicle and get repaired
    3. hover over damaged vehicles and repair
    4. bail and steal enemy helo/jet
    5. stay in Jeep type vehicle as engi and race to my own damaged CO toys without getting out, then race back and hide

please list your cool tricks , tips

How about flying the fully loaded BH into the center spawn inside the dam on kubra dam map. Yes - inside - where the apc loads and the flag stand is - not hover below in the tunnel or above in the gap.

No vehicle damage - and a bunch of assist kills for the group.

Well...I don't know if we were the first, but I had a squad of people that would set mines and c4 on the main road (kubra), just on the other side of the bridge if you're playing Mec. Everytime, USA tried to send a vehicle down the road it was destroyed.

They sent helos, but couldn't flush us...it was great.

My other tactic...I won't share because I've done it once. I really racked up the kills. and I wasn't even spawn camping.

dont like climbing up the ladders, i always get killed.

Re: What did you invent in this game??

These are all of my good tricks (not all exclusively mine, either), but whatever:

After I kill a Sniper, I pick up his kit and place his Claymores around the area where he died. Then I pick up my old kit and carry on. When he comes back to find me (or someone else tries to take up the same position)... boom!

I place C4 in the base of the flag pole where, if you're good, it'll disappear into the object and is not visible to anyone trying to cap. Of course, the explosion is not affected and does some nice radial damage.

If I kill a Medic I pick up his kit, throw down 2-3 heals, then regrab my old kit.

I will often booby trap empty vehicles with C4 (especially if they're in the main enemy base), then watch the minimap (at medium zoom) for them to go from gray to invisible (enemy got in). Then I blow the explosives. It's a good way to suppress armor from halfway across the map.

C4 in clever spots - in plants, next to electrical boxes on building walls, top of the flagpole, base of sandbags, and any other place where it's hard to detect.

Landmines in the same spots, but also in shallow water, under empty vehicles (sabotage), and at the apex of a corner in the road. I also, if the flag radius is appropriate, place mines in a circular pattern at the very edge of the flag radius so that players HAVE to exit vehicles to cap. Especially useful on the Chinese APC-fest maps.

Bind my #3 gun to a mouse button (Mouse4 in my case) so I can always switch to it quickly while running, laying explosives, or doing just about anything else. It also makes switching fire modes much faster, which I do often with the G36C.

Pump shotgun + approximate headshot = dead in one blast. Practice and you'll start wondering why more people don't use Engineer. You'll also be accused of cheating, if that turns your crank.

Location, location, location. I'm a great marksman, but it's a useless skill if I am being flanked, stabbed in the back, or otherwise overwhelmed - which happens if I'm not careful. Being successful means having great position and even greater awareness. You gain good position by knowing where the baddies are, so UAVs and (more importantly) spotting enemy troops, tanks, etc is critical to winning (sometimes I'll just camp an overlooking position not to kill, but to spot troop movement and tip off my team).

Mobility. If BF games have taught us anything, it's that the stationary player is the soon-to-be-dead player. If you kill someone in a certain spot, don't stick around. Better yet, expect that they'll revisit the scene of the crime and ambush them a second time. Or a third time.

Initiative. Most of the time (in my experience), the initiating player wins a firefight. I don't know if it's the netcode or what, but it seems that the player that moves into the firing line has an advantage over the player camping, watching the firing line. Maybe it's just catching someone off-guard, but pressing an attack and keeping another player off-rhythm plays into winning more than the bullets do.

C4 ain't just the tanks anymore. I use single packs to supplement my gun. I often place a pack at a corner chokepoint or reverse side of a wall, and wait. When a firefight ensues, I shoot and shoot, then switch to the detonator for a quick kill on anyone else trying to join in. People get very transfixed on targets once they're presented, and rarely notice that they just walked past explosives that you, the player, placed 2 minutes ago. Integrate all of your tools into every situation.

If you are in a squad with 2-3 friends, swap around as squad leader (leave and rejoin) to maximize spawning at each other's locations.

Anti-tank guys are the hardest to kill. I don't know why, and I always respect their durability and don't hesitate to expend entire half-clips just making sure they're dead. Most other kits drop with ease.

There are more but I'm out of time.

How about jumping off the carrier and landing in the gunner's seat of a Cobra? Man, that was awesome.

            EDIT:
On Kubra, the second spawn point (the only grey one), I often climb the ladder just close enough to capture the point. Many people do not know of this. Therefore, I also watch the ladder closely when I defend.

When defending that same spawn point, try hanging on on the lower levels of the bridge. You can pick off troops with your gun and use grenades to weed out people hiding around a corner. It's a supreme position.

Ah... one of my fav trick is to drop a granade when you are running for the hills (aka cover) using alt.fire to throw the granade but not loading any force to it so just dropping it Anyone chasing you will proably walk right in to it! This is a good trick in Karkand where people usually just spawn or appear behind you when your going for that CP :)

Oh.. dang that claymoring sniper corpses is a good idea! Wonder why I haven't though of that being a big fan of kit picking ^_^

Oh yeah and sometimes you can hide in enemy corpses :P

I used to use that technique way back in Quake 2 while playing a CTF mod called Weapons Factory. I used an assault-style class, and when running the flag out of the enemy base I would drop grenades (like little breadcrumbs of doom) all the way out.

I don't do it in BF 2, but I might try it now.

all the time. its so funny to listen to the idiots on the other team go on about why their plane isnt respawning and they can't see it on the map... it also leaves your own team's vehicles free for the rest of your teammates to use.

Ill have to try that, its easier to repair stuff this way as i seem to have a problem repairing in the spanner, i can spend ages trying to repair arty and nothing happens, but my spanner 'ammo' goes down.

Well, when i repaired/reloaded at a carrier with my heli, i got shot often by passing enemy jets.
I now hover just at the edge of the deck/building. My heli is now mostly coverd by the builing on the carrier and reloading/repairing is a lot saver.

As Commander, I rebuild my arty and scanners with supply drops next to them. I did it on accident once. At least now, I don't have to go around doing it myself or begging a squad to do it. :hmm:

My brother and I go Engineer / Support in an attack helicopter, and rip apart enemy vehicles (TV-Guided Missiles rock).

Though the thing I have yet to see put to good use, is that we can hover over a friendly vehicle, and resupply/repair it.

C4 mouse flam ^_^. After throwing C4, a quick right click followed almost immediately by a left click will detonate your C4 very quickly. Mid-air even. Gotta be careful though; the C4 could explode in your face and kill you instead. This is very useful for dropping them behind fences.

I pretty much invented BH teamkillinh in unranked server. DOne it like fitty times. Just call your gunner on the phone(half the people will not give out their number though) and aim him at the ground!
