    Calling all knife experts

    So c'mon what's your secret ?

Do you just sneak around behind enemy lines or sprint charge your target and the jump/prone him in mid-air. I must be doing something wrong as I always seem to get gunned down at the very last moment when trying to up my knife kill.

What's the best place to get a one hit kill too, The head ?

From my experience any hit with the knife is instant death. The only time I have used it is on snipers not paying attention behind them on roofs. Sometimes when I am out of ammo I can get a few kills if the people are having studdering problems.

Mainly you should use it on Snipers who are Sniping on roofs and are stupid enough to not lay a Claymore on The ladder.. OR you can easily dodge an enemy firing at you and Knife him, Going behind a enemy.. Any spots is a instant kill

Unlock the machete for some head-lobbing fun.

Being able to throw your knife would be pretty sweet, too.

Most of the time it is one stab to get the kill but then it depends on the enemy's type of kit. Snipers are an easy stab as they have no armour whereas Assault or anti-tank usually take two stabs. I find when they are in the prone position then they are often easier to kill and stab.

Circle around people. Use the road less travled. Aim for the chest. If the guy is standing, sqaut down and knife up towards his chest. If they are laying on the ground, lay down and come up besides them (think of it as a T). Don't use your scroll mouse to switch to the knife. It takes more actions then just hitting the key binded to the knife.

Any more tips then I'll have to charge you

Strike at Karkand is best I have found, jump off buildings behind people then stab them.

Makes me miss the throwing knives in Soldier of Fortune 2 multi player. I used to love playing knife only servers. Run along and grab knives out of the wall to throw. That was great.

Yea, good times Too bad i lost my S/N, aswell as my CD is scratched too badly to install good.

Best place to knife: The house where everyone spawns at the middle mosque in Masthuur. If the enemy got it, sneak up the ladder, kill people inside, then go on top of the roof and sprint in circles with your knife.

Be a sniper, hard to recognize you only seeing your skin then.

In my experience, Gulf of Oman is the best place to get knife kills (especially the three flags on the beach. Those are the places where i got both of my knife badges). It's a nice big open map so no one is expecting too much close contact with infantry. There's alot of air threats and vehicles around and ppl are more concerned and focused on them than on you sneaking behind them.

Best targets for a knife kill (at oman) are the ppl:

                      1) hiding from tanks/APCs or aiming at them with AT launchers and not paying attention to their surroundings
                      2) sitting in the AA-launchers looking at the skies since there's alot of air traffic
                      3) just laying there on the ground waiting for the flag to change
                      4) standing on the walls or hiding in the hut

I'm not a great knife fighter but i'd say the most important thing with the knife is that u can switch from your rifle to knife without it interrupting or interfering with your approach to the target: do not hesitate if u see someone within 10 meters of u - someone that clearly is focusing on something else than you.

A few more quick tips and things i've seen other do and found out to be useful my self too:

                      1) make sure you have enough "sprint" left -if needed - to run to your target before you attack
2)ppl in smaller vehicles /mounted guns are good pray for you when they are stationary (i've got quite a few kills from knifing ppl in humvee turrets)
3)sometimes it's good to lay on the corpse (yuck!) while changing back to prrimary weapon after the kill, coz it makes it more difficult for other ppl to spot you if they surprise you with your pants do... i mean with your knife.

hope this helps someone to get some badges! :)

I am just Veteran, but 7 knife kills isn't hard on urban maps. Just take SpecOps, look for a target facing the other way, sprint to him and slash him in the back. Or get on a roof and jump off right behind him and slash.

hehe Sof2 mp was classic stuff, wonder if anyone plays it anymore?

I have vet knife and pistol...best way is simply to play on the ranked pistol/knife only karkand servers; some may say thats a cheap way, but it would take you ages trying to get that many knife kills on a server with proper guns.
On the servers, normally some rounds every1 goes "knife only" and theres ur chance to rack up some knife kills, although there are quite a few experts on those servers..

dont sprint towards the enemy when u use the sprint function they can hear your foot steps unless they are a total noob
