Re: Need Major Help
How is your LAN setup??
Do you use a router that has the public IP and the PCs behind router get IPs from the NAT functionof the router??
Or do you use Internet Connection Sharing in XP, so one PC has the public IP and acts as NAT to other PCs??
Is there any firewall application on the PC affected??
Have you checked if the built-in firewall in XP is enabled?? It can easily be reenabled by e.g. running Network Wizard.

Re: Need Major Help
You need to double check the settings of your firewall and router. Also if you just networked the computers or changed anything about the network, Windows Firewall has a tendency to flip itself on. So make sure that is off. Also if you have a third party firewall such as Norton, or ZoneLabs, check to make sure BF2 is on its "Safe Application" list.
And just for good measure, update the firmware of your router.

Re: Need Major Help
First make sure that the router is functioning, i.e. you get a local IP on the PCs.
Try ipconfig /all in a commadn prompt, cmd.exe, on both PCs and take a look at the IP assinged or look at LAN adapter in Network Connection for the same info.

Re: Need Major Help
They ip configs seem to be fine, at least they both have an IP and subnet and a gateway IP, which is your router.
Have you set IPs manually or automatically, because I see no DNS server listing, only suffix. DNS is needed for name to IP resolution on the Inet.
If you can surf the net, then DNS is probably working okay, but it should be listed in there, and since there's no mention of a DHCP server, I suspect you have entered the IPs manually right?
Have you checked if the XP built-in firewall is enabled, not what you think it is, but actually verify, because it can easily be enabled, even if you don't mean to.

but not really sure if the ports needed to be open is only for account creation.Battlefield 2 Account Creation
NOTE: In order to create a Battlefield 2 multiplayer account, you must have the following ports open in your firewall.
Client Ports:
UDP 27900
UDP/TCP 29900
TCP 80
TCP 4711
TCP 29901
UDP 1500-4999
UDP/TCP 1024-1124
UDP 28910
UDP 16567
UDP 55123-55125
And some additional info on ports:
So are these port open in your router, for both PCs??
You have tried rebooting the PCs I assume, what about the router have you tried shutting that down and starting it up again?
