    Anything Better Than Fraps?

ok, i load up bf2 with fraps. I think i'm going to start recording some really good videos of myselfe. I usually get around 30-50 fps. I run fraps.. and i'm slammed down to a good 5 -15 fps... i can't even record.

Anything that i can use that's better than fraps?

Theres always GameCam. Though you can't record sound with the demo version. But aren't limited to 30 seconds of FRAPS. However, I did hear that PB gives you a big hug if you use it...

fraps is about the best progra, to use for capturing video's.

Maybe, if you plan to make a video, set down your res to 800*600 , you won't notice it in the video and your system has some power left for fraps. Also in fraps you can adjust the framerate you record with , set this a bit down

Camtasia Recorder (part of Camtasia Studio) is an alternative, but Fraps is still the least system-hogging one.

Lower your graphic settings and resolution to try and counter the huge drop by fraps.

I tried GameCam once. Man, what a pain. Use Fraps.

Use Fraps. Its easily the best.. Just set your settings on fraps down to HALF Window Size or something like that and limit it to 30FPS

Since this was bumbed anyhow, I have a couple questions:

                      1. Most videos you see are in 3rd person....fraps won't do this will it? Well unless you are in third person view right?

                      2. Whats a good video editing program to use?

                      3. going off #1, people mainly use battlerecorder and then edit them I would assume? Thats if fraps won't record in 3rd person.

                        Re: Anything Better Than Fraps?

                        1. FRAPS records whatever is on your game screen.

                        2. Look in BF2 movie credits. I see Sony Vegas quite a bit. PM someone like Xalias for more help.

                        3. People generally just use FRAPs and edit the clips together. The higher quality (like HD) will use a program called Battlelauncher, a much more complex program then FRAPs. FRAPs renders on the spot and immediately turns it into something watchable. Battlelauncher records camera movements and renders later. All you need is a BR file. Because BL renders later, you can max out the setting like crazy. All to the highest. This allows great amazing quality for your videos. Of course, Battlerecorder will NOT go into first person, whereas FRAPs does.
