Adding 32 Player Bots on Singleplayer

hi guys. i know this has been discussed already, but i wanted to know how to change or add bots on singleplayer. ive checked bf2files website, but i find it confusing for me on how to install it. can anyone help me? thanx. i just register today. im a newbie.. thx.

go to :\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\AI open AIDefault with note pade and find this line:

aiSettings.setMaxNBots 32

and you can change the number to anything you want

You also need to set

aiSettings.overrideMenuSettings 1

in that same file.

after these lines (the numbers may not be the same in this example but yours will be similar)
aiSettings.setMaxNBots 32
aiSettings.maxBotsIncludeHumans 1
aiSettings.setBotSkill 0.4

add this line
aiSettings.overrideMenuSettings 1

hi i tried all of these and changed all the settings but still 16 players appear. not 32. sorry if i made this difficult.. i have no idea on adding more players. thanx

I should also mention if anyone else tries this that 32 players can slow performance down and cause CTDs sometimes. If this happens try less bots!
Your system should be ok though...

i added the file but the problem now is that after loading and when i click join game the bf2 application closes. what seems to be the problem?

try less bots 24 or 28 and see if that works
just open the aidefault.ai file and change the setmaxnbots to 23 or 27

IMPORTANT: change the number in these lines
aiSettings.overrideMenuSettings 1
aiSettings.setMaxNBots 31
aiSettings.maxBotsIncludeHumans 0
aiSettings.setBotSkill 0.4

NOT the first lines that have a "rem" before them - the lines are the 2nd set of lines (as above)

it still closes the bf2 application... i set it low on 20.

IMPORTANT: change the number in these lines

What is the full path of the file you modified?
Can you post the whole modified file?

right click on the link and save to the folder C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\AI
make sure this file overwrites your old one

im reinstalling the bf2.. i have to delete the old AIDefault.ai and put this new file there? thx. sorry if i get u confused.:)
