Just curious about knife server-opinions

K i see alot of people crying about it. I see a few topics on this, but want opinions.

We was thinking about running our server one night a week for knifing. But needed to cap flags. Just no guns and vehicles.The server will be strongly admined.Also the server would not run not supervised as a knife server.

I don't know most of our group are knifing junkies now, and we love the thrill of knifing people when people got guns.

But is is very rare that someone will pull a knife out and have the balls to do a knife fight. Cause alot of people just go for the easy kill. Any one can shoot someone, or sit in a tank and whore around.

Personally i think knifing is a fun way to play the game,but would be somewhat funner to have the other person fight with a knife also.

Is it because of the lame stat paddlers getting like 400 points in a game that is going to mess this up for us? Cause we like our server and run a tight ship with rules to make people happy, unlike other servers. So we just want to keep the people happy.

Really its obvious to the stats on stat paddlers, why don't EA/Dice just remove those people from the stats, and let us still be able to have fun?

Knife?pistol servers are fine with me i have a little play on them now and again the only people moaning about it are people to involved with stats and they are scared some one might get a higher rank than them

I have no problem with it as long as it is not ranked. If stats are not the goal and fun is then it should not matter weather it is ranked or not.

I played on a couple of knife/pistol servers over the weekend, and it's pretty fun. The only thing you've got to watch for is clan guys gang raping you. I got piled on a few times where I would get revived and then killed by the other team. They just happened to be in the same clan.

I have no problem with it as long as it is not ranked. If stats are not the goal and fun is then it should not matter weather it is ranked or not.

LOL I we are paying for a ranked server, why would we pay for a unranked server just to have one night a week being knife only? Its not like a button you switch on and off for ranked. You pay for a ranked server then its ranked.

This servers aren't cheap like BFV BF:1942 were, so if we shelling out 150+ a month for a ranked server then its going to be ranked.

You guys and these gay ranks.Ranks and the stats are so messed up it isn't funny. I can care less about stats anymore.

I would be more concern about the lame TK punishment cause that is worst on your stats. Cause people don't know what punishment is for. They just punish cause they are ignorant and 99%of it is cause of there own stupidity.

Also all the people that are crying need to look at the bigger picture, The Pb proof hacks that are out. I am more concern about that. Cause those people aren't playing legit. I know of this one site that is a paid membership for the hacks and still is undetected. I report it to PB all the time. But yet they still can't stop these people.

Before someone says yeah right undetected, the reason they stay undetected is that, the Windows systems files are altered and you get a special serial on your PC and ur PC only. Also its like $95 a year. So lame people paying $50 for a game, including paying for broadband connection then to pay for a subscription to a hack.

If you dont care about stats then why have a ranked server? They have no advantages over unranked other then the points. Its interesting how you will fall back to the "whats the big deal about stats argument" when the whole issue is about EA not letting you do this on......... wait for it .........Ranked servers. Look You mod the server You dont get to accumulate points, Since you dont care about points it souldnt be a problem. If as many people who claim to only play there for fun are telling the truth then there will be many servers for you to play on of the unranked varity.

There was a thread on here regarding this saying EA would take action against "stat exploit" servers. I'm nearly certain a knife only server, even if it's only for a night, would catch the attention of either your provider or EA.

personaly I do not have a problem zith these server, never been in one, but I can imagine that it must be fun, in CS the knife pistol server are fun to.

And some people getting massive points there doesn't bother me to, I don't realy see it as exploiting because you still have to fight for your points.

Pistol/knife servers are good fun IMO.

Since EA was nice enough to provide us with all of one type of game, they at least provide some change of pace.

I'm in the top 150 in pistol kills, so it bugs me a little that people are getting pistol kills so easily when I worked harder for mine, but whatever. It's not that a big of a deal really.

Ok your not seeing my point, WE pay for a ranked server, so why should WE pay for a unranked? Like I said we are knife junkies, and would like to host a one night event. But with all the cry babies, we prob wont. Cause we run a strict server, but wanted to have the regulars that play there have a break from the some old lame crap. As in Regulars i mean non clan members.

FFS I can hop in a good black hawk squad and rank up over 150+ points easy, and have a almost perfect K/D ratio.

Have you even tried to go though a game only with a knife? doubt it cause you prob care about stats?

Running a knife only server would be fun, but it does take alot more work then just shooting someone.So why not let them get points for there stats to go toward there next unlock?

I've been in some good knife fights that take a few mins to get a kill or get killed.

I am also loving shock paddeling people. Cause i thought about saying no revives in the server. But I gussing shock paddling someone is doesnt take any skill like shooting someone and getting points.

And if you think i am so lame pistol knife only server junkie(tried it didnt like the no strict admin), i got vids to back them up and have 80% of my 440+ kills on vid. I love kowning lmao

In your BFHQ section, under Leaderboards, on the lefthand side you can change weapons, vehicles, kits, etc, and see who's in the 'lead.'

( Anyone who has played BF2 for more than 5 minutes knows that if you rent an unranked server, at the same time order a book from amazon.com cause you will be sitting there for the rest of your life waiting for more than 5 people to play with. ) 420 do you pick random forums to post in everyday about topics you have absolutely no clue about.

You cant garuntee that cause you have never played with me. Just in case we ever do run into each other some time, yes I will switch to knife if you have yours out. I to like to take a break from the gunfire and have a nice knife fight with someone.

Beceause you have changed the rules of engagement. Therefore those points earned should not be part of the EA tournament. Im not saying you are a cheater or stat padder. It dosent matter if it was harder or easier to gain points its not the way the game was originaly intended to be played.

Grow some comprehension jackass. We are not discussing weather or not you can populate your server, we are discussing the legality of Knife/pistol only servers. How about you order a book from amazon and see if you can garnish some semblance of an intelligent argument instead of getting all ****y about someone disagreeing with you.
As for your last sentance, What dont I have a clue about? The fact that youre ****y cause EA might make your server a normal ranked server and you wont be able to fill it? I stated before that I understood your situation and had sympathy for it. You on the other hand have responded with nothing but mindless blather and petty insults.
