Ok so here are my thoughts on people playing on ranked knife/pistol servers, or any server for that matter, just to pad there score. I have played on these knife pistol servers a few times and it was lot of fun. I'll admit getting a high score made it even more fun. But unless you are one of the top 20 players and you are on a server to deliberately pad your score, who gives a sh*t? I mean, as far as i know EA isn't giving away free Scions, or even a toaster oven, to the first few people who reach First Sarg. If your a sargeant now, you are one of thousands, just another fish in the sea. Its just a game. Does it really matter that your have a higher score than 4000 other nameless people you have never met?
The only reason I care about getting higher in rank is to unlock the weapons. If i could have had all of them by Cpl, i wouldnt care if the server i was playing on was ranked or unranked.
I know some people say that this is like one big tournament, and that is true. But no one ever remembers/cares who came in 346th in a 500 person marathon.
Some people want to get higher in rank so they have first dibs at commander. I personally dont really enjoy being commander. But if that's what really floats your boat, if you ask the person nicely who beat you to become commander, he will probably let you be commander next round.
Just my 2 cents. Any other thoughts?
