Pilots, to fly, or not to fly.

So you jump into a helo gunner seat, only to have the pilot take off, roll over backwards and land rotor down on the ground behind you.

What do you do?

A) Laugh and give it another try
B) Scratch your head and wonder what happened
C) Not get in that helo gunner seat again with that guy
D) Tell the guy to get some f'n practice flying a helo while hosting his own server, rather than getting in the game and learning to fly on a full server.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say D. Seriously people, if you can't fly, don't. I'm all about this being a game, and people having fun and all that good stuff. But for me, having fun isn't having some other a$$hat kill me because he gets in a vehicle with no idea how to drive/fly it. I'm not getting in a plane till I practice more on my own, cuz I know I lack that ability.

I usually check thier rank and if they are not corporal or above I wont get in and I tell them "when you have finished trying to fly that I'll be right here to show you how its done" which usually freaks them out and earns me several deaths thru them tk'ing me.

I would to a straight D.. I get ****ed off with people who can't fly properrly when they havent even tried in their own server

If it was on a ranked server I would be kind of ticked but since it's only one death I wouldn't go nuts over it. Just take the controls next spawn. I love to gun but I rarely get a chance to, due to the fact that I'm usually flying. I would have videos to prove that I am decent at flying the helos, however every time I have tried to download the urls from servers (battlefield recorder) I get an error saying that the specific file couldn't be found!!!! EVERY TIME!

i tend to tk the pilot who was crap before i mean the crash it i die with them the same guy is going for the helo again he gets knife in his head this follows with some abuse and then he leaves which makes the game a better place

I do A all the time. I have some days where my first flight isn't good, too. And I really LOVE those guys who start shouting "Go practice in single player mode!" 10 seconds after take off. So the other way around, when I'm gunner, i tend to not shout on my pilot in any case. If he can't fly, well... I fly next time. And in many cases those guys that I treated properly then stay in the gunner seat for the rest of the round on their own choice. This will never happen if you keep complaining about him. At least I wouldn't fly with you as a pilot anymore if you were one of those who think they can evaluate a pilot's flying ability after 30 secs and start calling him names then...

I got this very thing today. I took off on Sharqui and made a hard right, then was flying sideways towards the TV station (trying to spy the enemy chopper from afar) when the gunner says, "DO YOU HAVE ANY F*CKING CLUE HOW TO FLY?? WHERE ARE YOU GOING??" I wanted to choke the little f*ck. I'm no expert in the Helo, I don't claim to be God's gift to chopper pilots, but I do know that I can hold my own. Right about that time, I see the Cobra headed straight for our base, not seeing me at his 9 o'clock. I rolled in at his 8 o'clock and burried 8 rockets into his side. then continued to our base for a top off on ammo and headed straight back to the TV Station to light him up again.

I ended that map, I think 37-2, 115 points or so. As the gunner, he had 144 points, and I dunno his K/D but much higher than mine. The point being, in 20 seconds he determined that I was a suck ass pilot with no real clue of my abilities.

I hate guys who cant fly the helo. Last night, i was taking turns with a guy, he flew toooooo slllloooow he basically hoverd everywhere, and took ages to finally reach a flag with enemies in it. Then we got shot down. On another map, i was determined to pilot it and show him how its done, so on glulf of oman, we where getting owned quite bad, no flags, well the odd 1 so often, i decided to get in the helo, and blow some tanks up to help us.I just kept looping the map, take one run, blow a tank, repair, re-arm, and repeat. Took out loads of tanks, quite a few kills too. I did crash a few times though cos of those damn leaves on a tree lol, and onlce flew into a sign post for going too low! DOn't know why, but i seem to prefer the MEC chopper to the USMC one.

what i hated the most was i was in a blackhawk and some private was flying and he bailed so i pressed F1 but it was too late and i landed on my own teams full apc and i tk everyone in apc and blackhawk and they all punished but i was a common mistake...the point is he only flew the blackhawk to parashoot somehere

a) don't realli give a s*** about shouting at them, flaming wars are never fun. the flamed gets sad, the flamer gets ****ed, and everyone else threats the flames with a sore eye.

I try and only fly with friends over GameVoice. Occasionally I get a good pilot who is a complete stranger...but that is rare.

Otherwise, I certainly avoid flying with them unless I could tell it was a complete accident. Accidents happen to even the best pilots

It's best to avoid a chat argument..that never gets anywhere.
