wtf, its almost the same as the Mi-28 not being able to shoot ppl when they are in the prone position.
also how did you produce this bug, did the other players do anything special or did you do something? -
Zeratul
never seen that happen And ive stolen AH's and hind's many times and killed people at their base from the gunner postion.
how can you replicate it?Comment

I can confirm that it is definately as the result of a bug. Me and my bro play online on two PCs in the same room and were both in a chopper. I was hovering and he was gunning. According to his screen he was shooting at three stationary infantry taking a flag and for some reason having no effect. But according to my screen, and thus, what the server is recording him as doing, his cannon was firing at a wall around 10m away from the enemy infantry, hence no kills!!
As mentioned before it is a bug that occurs in the cobra when the gunner changes from TV missile back to the cannon. For whatever reason the gun is not calibrated properly (even though it appears to be for the gunner). I have heard that the gunner looking to all four corners of their view may recalibrate what he is doing compared to what the server thinks he is, though I cannot confirm this.Comment

My bro and me have experienced same thing ourselves. I would always fly and he would gun, and sometimes on his screen it looks like he is shooting right at the enemy, but on my screen it's like 2 to 5 meters away from the enemy.Comment

well, that just blows.Originally posted by aLLyBOOMI posted this in the 'general' section:
It may also do this with the Mi-28.
Me and a clanmate were playing the other day, flew over and stole the Mi-28 (we were US) and we noticed an enemy there. So he turned it around and i shot 30 round into an enemy, no more than 30 feet away. Nothing happened.
I could see him doing the movements and yelling oohh!! aahhh!!! and all that, but he didn't die.Comment

thanks for all the replies
will examine this 'bug' theory a bit mroe
and attempt to recalibeate when switchng from TV to gun
to answer a few of the comments, by clarifying or sharing more detaisl
1. it is on a ranked server (our clan) which is highly monitored by admin - so NO clan hacks
2. we were NOT missing a bunny hoppying sniper - he was LAYING down, then got up and just stood there and stared in our face
3. we reload MANY times - so perhaps this is the problem?
4. we switch from TV to bullets MANY MANY MANY times as well
5. I can undestand that maybe there is an out of sync between shooter and target - but we saw SAME THING on both our systems (home LAN)
the cure is to rotate gun around all corners of screen?
this is for cobra only?
how can this be tested? (guess we need at least 3 players? (pilot and gunner and observer)
thanksComment

It's not when they're prone, it's when a prone player has his legs in a wall or other object. Splash damage doesn't hurt them - which is why it's a great tactic to use when getting hit by artillery.Originally posted by C11.Nemisiswtf, its almost the same as the Mi-28 not being able to shoot ppl when they are in the prone position.
