    Re: Rams-processors-video

My friend just ordered an XFX GeForce 6800 GT yesterday for 291 on newegg. Go look for it, but that vid card.

    1) RAM improves pretty much everything, loading speeds, more ram the better for alt tabbing, etc.

    2) I'm not too sure, but when I put in my friends 1 GB to put my total to 3 it did seem to give me a little more FPS.

    3) I would but I'm too lazy

    4) It's HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to get at least a gig for this game. Not sure if you absolutely NEED it, but I would get a gig anyways.

    5) This game isn't that CPU dependent

    6) Refer to #5, you will be fine with your processor now.

      5. my cpu never goes higher than 50% usage.. so more than enough of power left.. I have to agree with Nitemare (my cpu is a 2.4 P4 @ 2.8 gig)

      7. I bought an club3d x800pro with 256 mb ram a few weeks ago for 200€ (200$)! and the game runs extremly good, I play in everything high 1280x1024

1- RAM is usually system memory. It read/writes all the information that programs and Windows gives to it. Its kinda like the legs of the computer so to speak.

2- Yes. But so will internet connect, video card, and network traffic.

3- It looks good, better then most games.

4- I would reccomend the upgrade yes. If you need it, I'm not sure, but it won't hurt.

5- Yes. But only lower ends. As long as you're above 2.4 you should be okay.

6- No you should be fine. BF2 is not processor intensive.

        7- Get the XFX GeForce 6800GT. Its $309.00 on Newegg.com before a $50.00 Mail-In Rebate.

Like Nitemare said, double check that you have PCI-Xpress, if not you will need the AGP version of that card. Re-reading your specs, my guess is you have AGP so...

Here is the AGP version from XFX:

The 6800GT is a fantastic card. There is nothing wrong with it. You may hear of complaints simply because there are so many of them being used that the law of averages takes over.
