How will this laptop run BF2?

Hi, I'm a first time poster here.

I want to buy a laptop, the Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo M3438G.

The specs are:

Pentium M Centrino 2.0Ghz
1024MB RAM
256MB DDR1 GeForce Go 6800 PCI-E

I currently run BF2 on a desktop with a P4 3.2Ghz with 512MB RAM and a GeForce FX5200 256MB, and I can get 20 fps on low, 30 when I go to 800x600, so I'm guaranteed better performance on the laptop no matter what.

How will those laptop specs run BF2? What sort of framerates can I expect, with what detail settings and screen resolutions? I heard the Go 6800 is about the same as a desktop 6600GT.

I also wondered, how well do you think that laptop is for the future, could it run upcoming titles?

No, not with that model. In the UK, AMD equipped laptops all have rubbish graphics cards unless you're prepared to pay upwards of £2200 (about $4000 USD) - Britain is an expensive place for computers.

But the specs I gave should be enough, right? What sort of quality and FPS can I expect?

you will prob be able to run half high half medium with that card. or if u wana push it all to high but u get crap FPS

your laptop will do just fine, you probably will even run everything on high on like 1024*768 woth no AA.

BF2 isn't very CPU demanding .
FYI, your CPU may be only 2.0Ghz, but the actual performance if you want to compare it to a P4 cpu is higher (don't know exactly) but those M cpu's of intel do more calculations a cycle then the desktop P4

It will run it, although you may have some trouble. The Go series cards have had some troubles with this game from what I hear.

Generally not a good idea to game on a laptop. If you do, buy an extended waruntee that will cover the battery. My friend gamed on his and burned his battery out in less then 3 months.

My step-dads laptop that I used to play on with a Go5700, P4 3.2, 512 of ram ran pretty good with a few on medium, rest on low, 4x AA and got playable FPS. I would get occasional 1/2 second freezeups that would cause me a life or death, but I got used to it. You shouldn't have that with 1gb ram tho.
