    showing the fps...

    this has probably been addressed a million times but what is that second number when you bring up the FPS

    not really sure about the console command but u can just run Fraps in the background =D

      its the CPU usage. and for clarification, the reason i know this is because the CPU usage goes from 10 on medium/high settings to 20 on all high.

        well i took out my audigy 2 card and put in my on board on my DFI and now the first number is down and the second number is up... but at the same time it seems to be smoother

          Hit the ~ key

          type: renderer.drawfps 1

          Don't forget the space before "1"

          You can retype that command with 0 to shut the FPS off.

            It's the time between frames in miliseconds. Ever wondered why the second number is the lower, the higher is the first one? That's why

              you will get a different answer !
              even here in this thread !!
              my research , using different settings and different sets of hardware on 3 different computers
              indicates it is a measure of CPU usage
              -- whether the cpu % of use rate, or time between frames - is irrelavent
              (ie am not really sure)
              but smaller is better
              I get between 10-20 on mine in most cases
              and under heavy loads - goes up a bit
