    Friends newly upgraded PC..

Yeah, all he really upgraded was his video card, but what settings do you think he'll be able to play on. He needs another 80 dollars then he's going to be getting a 1GB stick.

    AMD Athlon 1.25 ghz
XFX GeForce 6800 GT (coming friday)
    512 mb PC2700 RAM.

Yes, I know, it needs a better processor and more ram, but what do you think he'll be able to play on with that right there.

The processor might bottleneck him a bit, tell us what his numbers are. Like 2500+ or 2200+. Because we need to know, and yeah a gig or 512mb more memory won't hurt.

I don't know what model his processer is, when I go to his system and look at its specs that's all it says. He just reformatted today and I forgot to download everest and i couldve looked there.

Always look on the games box before purchase to see if it matches the rig.

AMD Athlon 1.25 ghz is way to slow for BF2 m8 the min requirements are....(from the game readme file)

          - Minimum Specification:
          CPU: 1.7 Ghz
          RAM: 512 Mb
Video Card: NVidia GeForce FX 5700, ATI Radeon 8500 or ATI Radeon 9500
          with 128 Mb of RAM

It doesn't matter what equivalent his AMD processor speed is. But, with a 1.25ghz... it'll be tough. And that RAM's not helping much either. I guess he can overclock it a bit...

              Correct, but he's asking
Quote "Yes, I know, it needs a better processor and more ram, but what do you think he'll be able to play on with that right there" end quote.

I take that to be what kind of games not if he can play bf2.

I would like to see someone squeeze out another .45 out of a 1.25 without it going pop when playing games like BF2.
