Whether on foot, in an armored vehicle, or in the air, I always make a point of using the commo rose (Q) to point out enemies to my teamates. It seems as though not too many people use this feature (especially when I'm flying a helocopter and the gunners just shoot and don't key me into the locations of the enemies) and it is a shame because it is such a useful feature. Some people might make the argument that when engaged in combat, one doesn't have time to mess around with their keyboard trying to make an enemy's position obvious to teamates. But this argument couldn't be easier to overcome; when gunning in the blackhawks or attack helos, if you see an enemy such as a tank or another helo that could pose a serious threat to both your own chopper and those teamates on the ground, simply while firing at the target press and hold down the Q key and click the left mouse button once...and done! You have just spotted an enemy threat on your radar and your teamate's radar, thus allowing the pilot to make the proper maneuvers necessary to either avoid sed threat or position the helo to take out the threat. And as for those teamates on the ground, they will greatly appreciate the fact that you notified them of the tank sitting just around the corner waiting to mow them down with ease.

Re: Enemy Spotted
I use the commo rose(Q) all the time but i find that people ignore what you have spotted and carry on regardless, unless your in a squad that is working as team the commo rose is pretty useless as people ignore. -

Re: Enemy Spotted
I've got into the habit of of spotting things all the time now. I dont generally do it for infantry but choppers, boats vehicles etc its second nature to me now. Problem is sometimes i spot when i should shoot lol :)
BTW sorry if this sounds out of line, but just a suggestion to use paragraphs in ya posts as a huge chuck of text can be difficult to read.Comment

Re: Enemy Spotted
I use it a lot, other to, and other almost never use it, it's a thing we can't do anything about.
But it would be nice for everybody using this more, and the commander the most, most commanders just put UAV, arty and that's it, as a commander you constantly heve to spot the enemy's and tell your teamComment

Re: Enemy Spotted
So true, the amount of commanders who dont even spot nme locations when they have no spawns is ridiculous.Originally posted by rombaftBut it would be nice for everybody using this more, and the commander the most, most commanders just put UAV, arty and that's it, as a commander you constantly heve to spot the enemy's and tell your teamComment

Re: Enemy Spotted
thanks for the thread
because the one thing I HATE the MOST in this game
is the faliure of nearly EVERYONE to spot enemy
I use armor most of the time
and I use it to SUPPORT the troops
(ie I do NOT go off and cap flags)
yet every time I am in the middle of 5-10 blue dots
and a red tank comes right around the corner
UN- ANNOUNCED - arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!
whoever gets the 1st shot usually wins a tank battle
and a littel off topic
how can a spec ops run up to my tank
when there are 3-8 blue dots all around me???
PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE!!!
ps
when playing 'alone in armor'
avg 12 k 4 death
when hanging with a good group of blue dots
avg 20 k 3 death
usually 32 man Karkland
and a few team points as engineerComment

Slow down on the post button there Skippy!
I use the spotted all the time, but it's best when combined with Ventrilo.Comment

Re: Enemy Spotted
I use it all the time too, and this would be a great habit for people to pick up on, especially those not in TS/Vent. We can use TS to our advantage, but having other players spot is a big help.....when we're in the attack helo, we rely on the spotting for the other helo -- knowing their location in advance allows us to hover and let my gunner get a TV off on them before they knew what hit them..Comment

Re: Enemy Spotted
I have one issue as a commander (what little time I have spent as one), I find that when I "spot" an enemy it doesn't always take, I may need to hit them 3+ times. Now conversely, when I am playing in a squad when I hear the commander do this (though I know he is just trying to help) it is very frustrating to hear again and again
"enemy infantry spotted"
"enemy infantry spotted"
"enemy infantry spotted"
"enemy infantry spotted"
I assume this is some kind of bug from DICE?
Any recommendation on how to alleviate this issue?Comment

Re: Enemy Spotted
I try to spot all the time as well, both playing and as commander.
On thing I hate is if you are in a helo as copilot, but your gun won't go up or left enough to spot, it's pure agony to know a Cobra is coming in, but the non-squad pilot doesn't know it!Comment

When I see a tank and 5 blue dots on the same road. And they don't know about the tank I spot it and sudenly the road is cleared and the tank has no idea they just passed by 5-6 people.Comment

When I'm gunner, my left hands two fingers are on letters Q and C, guess what: I always spot. As a pilot, I know that spotting an enemy chopper is invaluable in heli dogfights.Comment
