    Questions about graphics card.

    I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this thread so I apoligize if it is wrong but I hope you can help.

    I'm supposed to be getting a new computer this weekend. I was wondering since I will probably be getting a Gateway 840GM model or and HP with the same RAM,Processor,ect. Would I still need to upgrade the video card to the ones it says on the Battlefield 2 package?

    For the Gateway it say it has this: Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with Dynamic Video Memory Technology (DVMT) 3.0 supports up to 224MB video memory; high-definition audio (7.1-channel support)

    For the HP:Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with Dynamic Video Memory Technology (DVMT) 3.0 supports up to 224MB video memory; high-definition audio (7.1-channel support)

              are the cards listed above suppose to be with the BF2 Package?...if so, if not whatever...upgrade.

                  I never heard of any of those parts....All I do know is that HP isn't the number 1 pick around here...but it just may work.

                  When you get it...download the demo and give it a shot.

                      Those are onboard graphics and they wont run any game especially BF2. I say you need atleast a 6600gt or a x800gt to play this game at all.

                          It won't work, don't even get your hopes up. Buy a new video card..best bang for the buck is a 6600 GT.

                              Yeah, good deal for mid end is a 6600GT. Also the X800 vanilla 128mb. It has 12 pipelines, so that's great, the 256mb version is only 200 bucks too. DOn't ever listen to anything Intel says about integrated graphics, it says extreme graphich and everything, don't believe em, it probably can't even run CS.

                                  My Intel Extreme integrated graphics on my last computer could start up CS:S, but my latency was over 1000 and my FPS was a whopping 2.

                                      Hehehe, i see you're probably running CS:S on max now with your 6800 Ultra. I didn't even think taht integrated could even run normal CS (not Source).

                                          How much are you getting that rig for anyways? Don't want to build a custom one?

                                              why are you stuck on those two system choices
                                              much better deals out there
