    Re: Mashtuur Map Help

The Vodnik doesn't always work. The BH gunners usually take you out in a 2 seconds, if it takes that long. And when I do play Assault, I try to fire a grenade in the chopper but most of the time I either miss the crew compartment or I get mowed down before I can fire. Until Dice puts something in to make it easier to take down a BH, the ramming is the best option so far.

Man now i have to try that
it sounds awesome. I love finding new and wonderful ways to kill people
Just last night we were going against a wicked chopper pilot and he was kicking our asses until we just started flying the chopper into him and bailing out. Worst case scenario we kept him busy and kept him from killing our team.:)

i dont usually ever seem to have a problem taking them down with a vodnik just dont sit with the vehicle in the open and play smart. also sniping the pilot out when hes hovering to cap a falg is a nice way to send the chopper out of control and into the flag pole for some easy kills, (m95 ftw)

The chopper can move a lot faster than people on the ground. I've been in more than one BH with a pilot that understood the concept of leaving, even if the flag isnt' capped, if we're drawing fire from too many big guns.

So while the BH cruises to the next flag, the MEC has to try and follow--- all the while dealing with the ground troops.

There is a mild imbalance here--- the BH simply takes too much abuse to put down in the hands of a competent pilot/SL (not even a great pilot--- just competent) who has a couple comptent gunners and a engineer or 2. They wouldnt need to 'nerf' anything--- just make a mild adjustment so that a team on the groudn can get teh same points a BH crew does, withotu relying on the 'cooperation' of the enemy to get those points (A BH crew doesn't need to reply on kills to score points).

They do. While roadside IED's are the biggest TTP killing our troops (about 50% of casualties) right now, there ARE technological advances combating these. Although a high threat, they are greatly over-glorified by biased, uninformed major media sources. If you want to know whats going on down there... dont watch the news.

Heres a good example of an independent news source if you want some info. This guy has written some of the best dispatches I have seen so far. A lot of his stuff is damn near the actual classified after action reports... because he takes time to check his accuracy. Not only that, he is imbedded with the units... not just reporting on the side. Here you go

But I digress... its rather off-topic response to an offtopic post, sorry for the hijack.

And the process of "spawn -> get mowed down -> respawn -> get mowed down" over and over again with no chance to fight back is?

I can see how people would get a thrill out of ramming other choppers and seeing the killboard fill up with their name on the left.

None of that would happen in a decent game anyway.

I usually start a SpecOps squad, run up to the black hawk spawn, throw some C4 on the helo pad, man the AA, and either shoot it down or blow it up. Works every time.

How "should" the game be played anyway? The game is far from realistic. If it was, we wouldnt parachute from roof tops, or take a .50 to the chest and keep running. It's the quasi-realistic gameplay that makes this game so fun. You AREN'T restricted to any one type of gameplay.

If you want to land your cobra on a hill and jump in a gunner seat to mow down a flag...go ahead.

If you want to strap C4 to your buggy and ram tanks... have a good time doing it.

If the people who complain about these tactics have not yet discovered a way to adapt and overcome, they deserve to be fodder. Quit complaining and play.

                    I agree.
