    Monitor Mode Error

I recently installed BF2 on my desktop and I keep getting an error when trying to play the game. Once I double-click the icon, the Battlefield 2 logo pops up and everything runs smoothly. Then, after the logo disappears, the screen goes black and a little box pops up that says [/i]"Not optimum mode"[/i]. Along with that message, it says 1280x1024 @ 60hz (which is my monitor's current settings). And after the message is when the game shuts off and returns to windows.

I have a LeadTEK 128MB GeForce4 Ti4400 and it isn't on the list of "able" video cards in the readme. Is that the problem?

What can I do to fix this problem?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Re: Monitor Mode Error

I would guess that it is your video card only because it is not on the supported hardware list.

The only thing I can suggest otherwise is to make sure your monitor supports 800x600@60Hz up to 1280x1024@60Hz.

Also try a search on "1280x1024" on the forum search, there will be instuctions on how to force this resolution.

If neither of those works, then I have to say it is your video card.
