mod map crashes

hello every one!
i started downloading some maps for bf2 and after i push join it crashes

here is another person having the same problems

"I've been following a guide on how to make mods for BF2 and everything has been going good until now. I created a map and have tryed to play it in a singleplayer and in multiplayer local game and for some unknown reason when it finishes loading the map i pres "join game" and ............ it crashes to the desktop.

really dissapointing.

anyone think they know whats up with this? "

But there is a modding forum where you may get more help.

Contacting the people who made the mod could help too.

Contact the people who made the Map/ Maps.. See if they know of any bugs

ya i got some mod maps even ones i made and they crash, grrrr

BF2 has too many bugs, at least till the new patch comes out, i wouldn't even bother with it.

The main reason for crashing is that some maps require your terrain settings to be on Medium. These settings can be found in Options - Video - Terrain

sorry for double posting but i just have heard that all of the mods are not supported on single player unless ea aproves them and dose something fancy.

IMHO this is correct.

MOD maps have to be hosted to be playable e.g. you download a custom (MOD) map (client side) and a private server (server side) has to host them (have them loaded at the server end) Not many peeps have the resources to do this at the moment. You will need an IP number and password to connect.
I wish that when peeps post custom download maps particularly on the home page of this forum that they would state if they or anyone else is hosting them with IP addresses and passwords.
I just played some real nice custom maps last night on Alpha9 so much fun.
