    Complete system crash bug!

    Ok, I know that this bug has most definitely been reported before but does anyone know how to stop my system from crashing every time I run this game? I mean literally 4 times in a row as soon as im in a game it crashes in under a minute. It just started doing this a couple of days ago and it ONLY does this when I play bf2. And it doesn't crash to the desktop. The whole comp auto reboots....

    Is this an unfixable bug and dice is just gonna have to patch it or what?

          Could be a lot of things. Could be a bad stick of memory, could be a bad driver, could be over heat.

          Have you updated any drivers recently? Are all your fans spinning on hardware ( Videocard, CPU...)?

          And system specs would help. If you are running XP, go into the admin option from control panel, and there is an Event Viewer. See what the last error was and google it.

              My system specs are fine and im 99.9% sure its bf2 and not my comp:

              2.8Ghz Intel p4
              Windows XP
              768Mb of RAM
              ATI 9800 pro + my psu is a 480 watter I know thats more than enough to run a 9800..
              I KNOW its not overheating because I got 3 fans running my comp temp is like 30C and It ONLY crashes about 1-2 minutes once I am playing in a server.

              Also, Since im still able to play most of the time (game worked right after my first post...) I wonder if its more G@yspy crap......

                  Well, before BF2 my system was:

                  2.4Ghz Intel p4
                  Windows XP
                  768Mb of RAM
                  ATI 9600 pro 256mb

                  And had exactly that. Setting everything to LOW improved things (crash about every 15 min to an hour).

                  Then I yanked out 256mb and replaced it with 1gb (for new total 1.5gb).
                  Problem solved!

                  I didnt put the memory in to solve the crash though (although it did fix that as well), but to reduce load times from 5-6 minutes to about 45 seconds :-)

                  Memory is cheap these days, everything else U use the PC for will benefit as well!
