    Re: Battlefield 2: Splinter Cell

ya i understand there are new maps. But I want new maps and vehicles for the ORIGINAL MODE of gameplay...not new maps for this new special forces mode or whatever....and yes, custom maps are being released, but you cant play them on ranked servers..... Chubz, go back to the other thread and have a Special Forces fanboy party with the other 12 year old noobs in there

Half the playerbase of BF2, if not more, loves the special ops class. It's only normal they developed a pack to cater to the fan base.

hey, i love spec ops as much as the next guy, but there is a difference between spying around in the dark and being a spec ops player. like the other guy says, this expansion doesnt even fit with the theme of battlefield.. i dont really think its realistic having teams of 32 players each zipping around the map with crossbows. i dont know about you, but ive never seen an army do that. its just plain retarded and the realistic aspect of the game is gone. if you want this unrealistic type of crap go play UT2K4 with gravity hooks. I'm personally more excited about the 1.03 patch than i am about this expansion

The way the expansion is portraying the Special Ops class is more realistic than the way Vanilla BF2 has been doing.

Running around gunning everybody down while tossing C4 left and right, taking out tanks, is not very realistic at all.

Spec Ops in reality probably rely on stealth alot more and most definetely use Nightvision a majority of the time.

Now, I'm not saying the realism is all here, though, because the one-shot-zipline-setup part is definetely not realistic, but it at least adds to the gameplay and makes things a bit crazier.

sure, i agree, it adds variety, i just wish they would stick with the theme of these games. this expansion feels more like Splinter Cell than BF2. I mean, even another game mode or two that stays within the confines of the original concept of BF2 would be more welcome than this for me. And yes, i agree that there are aspects of BF2 that are not realistic, but the stuff they are doing in this expansion is ludacrous
