How to make out of bounds areas in maps?

So I'm new to making maps.

I've decided to make something, but the problem is everytime I fly or go about 10-20 meters from my grid limit, I basically crash.

How do I make the limits that get the guy on the radio telling you if you don't come back you'll die etc...?

I've heard it has something to do with Heightmaps.

First off make sure you are in Level editor, then click the Combat Area icon at the top of the screen. To place a combat area, it's best to use camera/top down view. Right click where you want to start your combat area and create control point. When you are adding further control points (by right clicking) make as smooth a curve as possible by placing them close together. When you place your last one, make sure you're zoomed in so the end is large on screen, click the last control point ON TOP of the first one and it will ask you if you want to lock the combat zone (or something similar). You don't need to put the red texture in it does this itself in game, but Like I said make sure you get it as smoothly curved as you can otherwise it looks a bit crappy. Hope that helps.
