Keeping the enemy mi-28 down in Sharqi Penisula helps your teams sitting ducks (=ground units) a lot since it's cannon is very overpowered against ground units.
I dont like to get into dog fights in atk helos, its a waste of time, ground targets are much easier to hit and more useful to the team; like if an infantry guy on my team says "armour spotted" then il go help him out and take it out so he doesnt get killed.
But TV missile is very effective especillay against a BH, because its slow and a big target hovering over a flag.
Because I'd rather prevent enemy chopper from slaughtering my teammates? Because I'd like my tanks not to worry about threat from the above? Because I shoot it down and then spend next 30 seconds hitting enemy targets, without worrying if chopper will show up on my tail? Etc, etc.
When I see enemy chopper sending missiles to my teammates on the ground, should I just get a "revenge" and send missiles to enemies on the ground? Don't think so. I'll go straight for the chopper.
With good gunner, I was able to stop choppers (both attack and BHs) on Dragon Valley, for example. They'd hardly cross the mountains, and if they did, I'd hunt them down quickly. Good gunner can also take out choppers on the carrier, with TV missiles, from distance. And still, we'd also hit ground targets (armor has highest priority). And have scores in the top 3 (although I don't care about my score, I care that team wins).
I get annoyed by attack chopper pilots who go around and try to cap enemy flags or shoot at infantry who are already surrounded by our teammates.
Not the most effective use of your time if your only goal is to rack up the kills, but if it keeps the other chopper busy it's really a neutral situation.
So waste of time if you're a point whore, not so much if you're trying to keep a crack helo pilot/gunner combo from destroying your armour collumn.
