Buying a web server

I hate having to pay for web space, Then I thought I should buy my own server. I was looking on best buy and newegg. What type does it have to be to have like streaming movies and music over the internet (without having to download). I think you know what I mean. There was one on best buy:

its a Mirra Personal Server, Can that be used as a web server so I can put my website on it or is that just like a hard drive you can access on a network within a building.

Which Is better. Oh and Do I have to have windows 2003 server or whatever you call it?

Going to move this to server support forum, although it's not a BF2 server help thread as such, it will at least be exposed to people that know what they are talking about. :)

Well Hayden, if your planning or going to try to use .com, .org etc, then you can forget about getting any of those two. but if you are going to use your IP as the address, then get the one from bestbuy. but I still prefer buying it off a company unless if you have a good upload speed connection for the bandwitdh and downloads people going to do. and no, you don't need to use win 2k3

I think your better off reformatting an old computer with xp, maybe adding some ram, optimizing the services, and installing apache / php / mysql and perhaps a software firewall like zonealarm. webservers for personal use dont need alot of power, plus you'd have a bit more security than some canned bestbuy addon. And like Judian said, hopefully you have a decent bandwidth at home. also for domain names, you would need a service like dyndns or something.
