    1. is this an in game issue that ea has to do some thing to fix.. or is it something wrong with my pc

    2. is there anyways to fix this if its my problem

Use the forum search function about crashing. Most likely your drivers are not up to date.

Well I'm too lazy to find you links, your search will take all of 2 seconds.

Also, when you update your video drivers did you uninstall and clean the old ones? If not that could be causing your crash.

        Drivers to update:
        Sound
        Motherboard

You will have to find out your soundboad and motherboard makers and go to their websites and download the latest drivers. Sometimes onboard sound will be included with the motherboard, in which case all you need is the motherboard drivers.

I've reinstalled bf2 4 times since buying, its actually really quick, just copy your controls folder, and uninstall the rest. I have had to do this because- im too lazy to copy every file i modify, for single player coop Mods.

Plus if something is glitchy it will fix itself by a re-install, then replace your controls in profiles folder w/ old controls (the comtrols i think take longer than re-install)

I read at http://www.tweakguides.com/BF2_1.html that BF2 doesn't like Modes other than 800 x 600@whatever your monitor can handle.

"Launching/Loading Issues: The most common problem with BF2 is that the game crashes to desktop or goes to a black screen when you first launch it. The reason for this is either incompatible hardware (make sure you meet all the minimum specs), or more usually the fact that you're not running at the default Windows XP refresh rate (60Hz). By default the game tries to launch at 800x600@60Hz initially, so your system must be able to run that same resolution and refresh rate, otherwise the game will abort. If you are using any refresh rate override program/method, disable it (e.g. if you're using Refresh Force, click the 'Restore Original Settings' button and apply). Alternatively, see the Advanced Tweaking section of the guide for details on how to set a different startup resolution, in case your graphics card/monitor simply cannot do 800x600@60Hz resolution. Once you've got the game running, you can then change the resolution to suit your taste in the in-game settings, and importantly you can select a higher refresh rate. Then you can reapply any refresh rate override and the game will launch without any problems. To set a non-standard resolution such as 1280x1024 see the Advanced Tweaking section."

Maybe this is your problem? Try setting your Resolution to 800x600 then start up BF2. After that you can change the setting in the options menu.

Re: Bf2 In Trouble Please Help

Another copy of BF2 won't help. It's your PCs performance that is causing the troubles.

I don't see the motherboard maker listed in your specs so you will have to either open the case and look for a name and model or use a free program like Everest Home Edition (Google it) to determine what motherboard you are using. Once we know that we can proceed.

You will want to have the latest nvidia video drivers, the motherboard chipset drivers and the latest sound drivers from Creative. They have new ones for your card dated Aug 1 so they should help.

Once you have these three drivers handy, uninstall first the video driver from Add/Remove then the Sound drivers the same way. Don't let Windows reinstall anything upon rebooting, just click cancel each time.

Now install the mobo chipset drivers over the current ones. Next is to reinstall the video drivers and after reboot, install the new sound drivers. Make all the normal adjustments to your PCs vid and sound settings and you are almost done.

                      Lastly, navigate to:

                      C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache

...and delete each of the folders inside that directory so that BF2 won't try to load any old files.

                      Good luck...

It won't hurt to install the mobo drivers, they are the VIA Hyperion 4in1 drivers version 4.56v dated 12 April 2005, located at http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx...D=1&CatID=1070

Make sure you install the Via Hyperion 4in1 drivers is you are using WinXP 32bit and not the VIA Hyperion Pro drivers!
