    playing online somehow reboots my comp

    I think this happened before with another game but never bf2, and that other game was on a different comp. I'm just shooting at things and my comps reboots on its own right in the middle of fighting, is this a memory problem? I have the lastest patch for the game, can anyone help.

    specs;
    1 gig ram @ 3200
    6600gt msi
    amd 64 @ 3200+
    windows xp sp2

    You may have a virus or some spyware on your system.

    I suggest scanning ur system with AVG Virus Cleaner and Ad-Aware SE

        Is it possible your comp overheated? I had a problem once a while back where my comp kept restarting coz I was playing too much CS in the summer.

              Could be a million things...heat problems, memory(confliction, loose sticks...), conflicting vid/sound drivers...the list goes on. More info will help...maybe post ure specs and inform of recent hardware/software changes...anything that will help. Also post in client support, more ppl 'in the know' browsing there i would think.

                No, it's a hardware driver error. Windows XP defaults to automatically rebooting, but if you go to system properties and change it to not rebooot, you will see the good old familar BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). There, it will cite the reason, and for me, it's always because of Nvidia's driver.

                Usually, the only solution is to upgrade and/or downgrade (yes, downgrade) your drivers.

                  Actually stop errors can be caused by a number of things, not just driver errors. Stop errors are "the blue screen of death", however to get rid of the old "BSOD" feeling, Microsoft defaulted WinXP to reboot upon a stop error, so that the average user would not see the BSOD.

                      What wattage is your power supply? Could be that it's not powerful enough or that it's failing. Coudl be a driver issue or bad or conflicting RAM. Easiest place to start probably is drivers, then try taking out a stick of RAM if you have 2 seeing if it stops.

                          i have a 550w power supply w/ dual fans, that should cover anything. My gig of ram is 256x4, and i have yet to get any drivers for the vcard except the ones that came with the box

                            That's a good place to start and likely your problem depending on what version they are. Go to the Nvidia website and get the latest drivers. Make sure to uninstall you old drivers first from control panel then reboot. When windows detects the card and wants to install drivers press cancel on the box that pops up. Then run the new driver install exe. Set your settings again in the properties box and then try to play.
