Sniper Can't Kill From A Distance?

I'm having problems with sniping.
It seems that if I'm aiming at someone - even if they're standing still - if they're a certain distance away, I can't hit them. Same situation but a lot nearer, I do hit them.
This is annoying me because even with the m95, i can't hit people far away, which is the point of being a sniper

Suggestions?

it probably has something to do with the scope, but I think it's just underpowered on purpose because it would be too good if it worked like it should. On a side note, don't you love how you hit someone, and it doesn't kill them? Anyone hit with a .50 cal round from any distance wouldn't be walking away from it.

for the m95, do you know what the 6 and 8 and other lines are for the scope?

Those are for distance/rangefinding but i don't think the game uses them.

SerbSniper is correct, the game does not use them, its just for looks. There is no bullet drop or wind sheer effects. Also the "God of Sniping" video is a hoax, there is no way that 90% of the things done in that video are possible. I have watched it several times and can tell you that the M95 does no where near the damage he would have you believe.

I think the people he shot were injured a little so it was a 1 shot kill..
