    Resolution problem

I have searched and searched, no luck with anyone's methods. How do you make it so that you can change the res to 1280 x 1024? Why the hell did EA not put it in, who uses 1280 x 960? The command line thing doesn't work. I need help here!

Does the Game even support 1280x1024?

I'm not sure on that - I'd like it too though

Command line parameters! I'm pretty sure it's:

      +szx 1280 +szy 1024

If it isn't, then do a search on these forums or look at the tweak guide here. I'm pretty sure it has it. http://www.tweakguides.com/BF2_1.html

this is how my command line looks like atm:

        "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024

        and it works.

I copied that exact command line, with quotes, and it still only says 1280x960. i have a 17inch lcd that runs at a native res of 1280x1024, and i sure hope a 350 dollar 6800gt supports it.

I read somewhere that doign that won't make the res show up, even though it will go to it. Is this true? I don't get why EA would nolt include such a popular resolution.

              And it is C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024

it wont show up in the menu, but your screen will be that resolution.

It isn't available in the game probably becase it isn't 4:3 ratio like 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1600x1200 are. The proper 1280 resolution is 1280x960, because it is 4:3.

Some time ago there was a SGI workstation, I think, with 1280x1024 and it has stuck ever since eventhough it is not the right one, and now many LCDs use it. If your monitors has a native resolution of 1280x1024 then you should force it via the command else just use 1280x960.

I think it will be added to the game options in patch 1.03

Using the command line option will only force the resolution, not make it selectable in the game options.

                    Re: Resolution problem

I hope so. I mean, over 50% of LCD sales these past 2 years are 17 inch, 1280x1024 monitors. Who uses 1280x960? I know its a 5:4 ratio, but that doesn't mean its not in use and it shouldn't be supported. What the hell were they thinking? They better make the resolution BS a thing of the past. I really can't tell if its at the res on the monitor because i can't compare it to 1280x960, since that's what is now 1280x1024.
