Ok, I'll try to keep this short and sweet. With my current hardware/driver setup I have this re-occuring fairly annoying issue. I'm not sure if this is a game issue, or if this is just my setup/luck. I have never gotten a clear answer from any other bf2 players, so I'm hoping someone here can clarify this for me. When in game, I cannot view a player model that is farther than 150 meters away, and vehicles about 200-250 meters. When a player model is beyond about 150 meters, they sort of 'dissapear'.
Now this is NOT the fog causing this, because I can still see trees, buildings, terrains around where the dissappeared player model is. I know it's not a bug since the player models fade in once they come closer. I'm planning on upgrading my computer to fix this problem, but I wont bother upgrading if this is an issue with a good number of people. Can anyone confirm that they can see player/vehicle models from far distances (at least beyond 150 meters?).
Here are my comp specs...
AMD Athlon +2000
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB (5.1 Cat right now, tried 5.8 no results.)
ECS K7S5A Mainboard (Never buy from ECS)
2x256mb DDR Ram
Windows XP Pro
Any help would be appreciated.
